D&D 5E (2014) Why do so many DMs use the wrong rules for invisibility?

Definitely! I blame it for my alcoholism and the divorce that followed... The worst is not being able to see my children grow up... Damned stealth!!!

D&D 5E (2014) Technology for making my world more accessible for my players?

Yes, that's what I was going to suggest. Myself I simply use a Facebook Group to keep in touch with my players. When I need to give them some world info I write a message and that's it. Obviously keeping it as short as possible, because I know that otherwise they'd either not read it or just...

    D&D 5E (2014) Playing 5e D&D wrong or broken word "CAN"?

Oh no! How will we ever understand the rules of this dreadful game now?

    D&D 5E (2014) Playing 5e D&D wrong or broken word "CAN"?

They're talking about invisibility and being undetected, and there's a 5+ page discussion about whether this means that invisible creatures are automatically detected. (you'd think it's obvious but...)

D&D 5E (2014) Why do so many DMs use the wrong rules for invisibility?

I think "can" deserves its own thread: Playing 5e D&D wrong or broken word "CAN"?

    D&D 5E (2014) Playing 5e D&D wrong or broken word "CAN"?

OMGs!!! Rereading the PHB I found out that to solve puzzles characters don't ever need to roll or even think about them! It says so in the very first page on the Basic Rules! I've been DMing it wrong all these years!!!:eek::eek: EDIT: This is about discussing the real meaning of...

D&D 5E (2014) Why do so many DMs use the wrong rules for invisibility?

They could write pages and pages detailing invisibility and hiding in the PHB and people would still argue rule readings like horny lawyers... How hard is it to simply apply common sense? Then again, common sense is the least common of all the senses...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Sorcerers: Favored Souls, Phoenix Sorcery, Sea Sorcery, & Stone Sorcery

I'm very happy that the new subclasses don't get any free spells. Sorcerer's limited spell list is a feature, not a bug. They're dabblers or channellers of magic. You you want loads of spells, you study magic all your life, and you become a Wizard. Sorcerers know a few good explosive tricks but...

D&D 5E (2014) Prestige Classes in 5e: What do you want to see?

That contrary opinion seems to be the most common one hahah. I totally agree. I also agree with those who suggested prestige classes as RP features, sort of like backgrounds for higher level characters. That would be interesting

D&D 5E (2014) Listened to latest "Lore you should know" and......

I just want to say that I'm also glad that there's no more FR cannon by default in D&D, and that they're publishing frequent AP for us to play, with the necessary lore for each story. (except I can't write it as nicely as many other posters). In fact, when I started CoS I told my players that...

Most Anticipated RPG of 2017: The Official Poll!

D&D 5E (2014) CoS Ideal Tarokka Reading Storywise

I did a pre reading and then I changed it to make more sense and seem coolest. I don't remember my initial draw, I only remember that I kept the werewolf as the ally, and switched a place that I didn't like for the Amber Temple (I like it and want to have it in the game). In the end this will...

Minis or Theatre of the Mind? (Survey)

I used to use minis on complicated fights, but I've dropped them completely in the campaign I'm running. I don't want to stop, clear the table, pull and find the right dungeon tiles, lay them out, find the adequate minis and only then start the battle. And I especially don't want to be...

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS - What do *animals* know?

Thanks all, game is tonight and I wasn't sure what to do. So I'll play the ravens with a very simple language. As to why they observe the characters they'll say something like "You make shiny, we like shiny. Here very dark. Devil bad. Shiny good" (We refering to both ravens and the wereravens...

    D&D 5E (2014) Fighter Survey Response

The same with me (with the Druid in my case). I think I'm just happy with all the subclasses in the PHB and I don't want new options for no good reason. If they're making something new make it worthwhile, not a bunch of funny concepts just to fill another book.

D&D 5E (2014) Your Biggest Gaming Pet Peeve

That's just like the paladin on Dice Camera Action, this Curse of Strahd game on youtube run by Chris Perkins. She's called Evelyn and always speaks with a georgian accent, and she's the most hilarious character in that game! That Anna (don't know her surname) player is brilliant! That was the...

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS - What do *animals* know?

Well, in the book they talk about how ravens start following the PCs and help them when attacked. And I don't remember reading anything about Strahd being master of all animals. See, when I played it the DM said something about beasts being Strahd's spies and we were supposed to take Ismark and...

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS - What do *animals* know?

They do, and that Strahd is the vampire ruler of this land. BTW, I forgot to mention that when the PCs "de-haunted" Death House the clouds opened and a ray of light shone for a moment. Which is most unusual. That's what I meant the raven to say, actual light

D&D 5E (2014) Your Biggest Gaming Pet Peeve

My pet peeves: - People constantly talking about what happened in other games they played in the past. - People that are way more excited about die and rolling numbers than what's actually happening in the story.

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS - What do *animals* know?

I guess that it would tell them that the ravens got curious because this group of people seem to bring a bit of light into that awful land... But nothing on the wereravens. Good point on giving them clues to where to go next!
