Fair point. But I didn’t want to get into dividing definitions with walls about what the fuzzy “casual players” mean. Not worth IMO it if we have a charitable, inclusive, open mind.

There’s another thread about jumping to other systems. I didn’t invent this, some on ENWorld have already said they in the planning already. Because I didn’t say “some DMs” didn’t mean I meant “all DMs”. I’m asking those who are making those plans due to the leaked OGL 1.1 reasons.

It looks like the 1.1 OGL leak is inspiring DMs to run future games with different system rules. How are casual players responding to DMs who are moved about what’s going on in the community? Are casual players pushing back against DMs making changes due to all this?

I’m glad I was able to get a copy of the Talent playtest when I did.

I keep returning to this thread thinking each update is an actual WotC statement.

The portions that allow WotC to take your material released under OGL 1.1, not pay you anything, themselves republish and profit on it, then exclude you from using the license and your material, kinda feels like reverse uno. The Reverse UnoGL?

Atlas games released an update to their Planegea Kickstarter with a statement about OGL 1.1, Planegea: The Prehistoric 5th Edition Campaign Setting. They will not use 1.1 as it has been described in leaks.

Be aware you’re going to get the people taking your calls lower NPS scores when people who aren’t wise to this campaign call in. Hope for discipline all you want. Those other people calling in will reduce their ratings, affecting reviews later.

You have worked on a far more functional call center than I do. I‘ve never seen a high call load result in near-term introspection by the legal or product teams.

Strong disagree. Not a good idea. Non-believable assumption that in this hoped for high call volume event that any caller that has waited a long time to get through will behave anything definable as polite. Extremely likely such a person will leave a dump review based on the call wait time...

If the version we have seen in leaked excerpts is the actual final OGL 1.1 to be publicly released next week, it seems to me remarkable that WotC incinerating fan good will over on the MtG line didn’t dissuade them from doing the same with D&D’s fan base. But I have been itching for an excuse...

I agree. I also think the only voices that matter to bean counters and shareholder-capitalists at Hasbro are the responses of major 3rd party publishers.

What we know is way down the chain of a game of telephone. People confirming they have seen the leaked version. No evidence the leaked version is the one that will be presented on the 13th.

Last night I read it was still a version from early December, not a confirmed final.

The final OGL 1.1 hasn’t been released and there’s already a petition it needs change?
