D&D General One Piece of Art VI (Maps)- What is Your Favorite D&D Map?

I love Dyson’s Shattered Tower! I am using it as a pivotal part of my campaign and have modified variations of it all over. But the map I picked is the fabric map of the Tablelands region of Athas. I don’t recall TSR or WotC putting a region map on fabric before but I love that they did it...

Spelljammer Spelljammer: Adventures in Space Review

I haven’t seen this yet. You don’t know a damn thing about what I like in this but just want to be a drive by crudstirrer. That’s why I was asking the question. Go bother someone else. Mod Edit: Language edit. Leave foul language at the door, please. ~Umbran

Spelljammer Spelljammer: Adventures in Space Review

You chose to randomly tee off my word choice of “very abstract”, with out knowing at all what I meant by it nor even asking me to expand on what I meant. Then opted to fill in those blanks you saw with bad faith snark that I must have meant I desired a rules-less rulebook. You have no idea...

Spelljammer Spelljammer: Adventures in Space Review

“If ship rules rules aren’t as complex as Classic Battletech what are even we all here for?” There are times I’m in that mood. during D&D isn’t one of them because I’m considerate of the rest of the players who dont want that.

Spelljammer Spelljammer: Adventures in Space Review

This actually more or less fine for me as I was afraid they would spend an unfortunate amount of space detailing a ship combat system only fans of Battletech could enjoy. While the rest of the players tuned out for the next 2 hours waiting for ship boarding. I was hoping for a very abstract...

Spelljammer Spelljammer: Adventures in Space Review

I’m understanding that the ship-to-ship battle/boarding rules are tremendously undeveloped, to the point of edging users to import something else. True?

D&D General All Time Favorite Dragon Magazine or Dungeon Magazine Content

My brother cut them out. He’s very precise so I let him. He also kept them! No big deal since we were in the same house. I left to college and forgot about them. A couple years later I asked if he still had them. Seems our mom got fed up with his mess one day and tossed them among a bunch of...

Spelljammer Space Clowns Are A Thing In Spelljammer

A lot of White Zombie/Rob Zombie music could fit the vibe of scary clowns…. “Meanwhile, behind the façade of this innocent looking bookstore…” Serious odd how much the lyrics of Cosmic Monsters, Inc. fit this creature.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Player Options for a Campaign Setting

Seems quite central Asian. Their rulers refer to themselves as an Ilkhan, for example.

Maybe. The migration map has them as emerging from a very explicitly Persian/Arabic cultural analog. A more accurate association might be to central Asian nomad people. Past art and descriptions were close to Mongolian or Scythian.

Through out Gary’s 81 folio and 83 boxed set. Those peoples are intermittently referred to by their own name and the common name given to them by outsiders. Likewise, Tiger and Wolf Nomads are called Chakyk and Wegwuir.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Player Options for a Campaign Setting

A Greyhawk player option I would love to see leaned into are gnomes who push their tinkering instinct not into devices but into illusions. This could be the time to unleash a batch of illusion options for players.
