D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Player Options for a Campaign Setting

I like thinking of them as a branch of Vistani. And I’m fine with that even with the 5e Vistani changes. I don’t need Rhennee to have a common physical appearance but I like the cultural identity aspect.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Player Options for a Campaign Setting

There is also room when considering the details of the Great Kingdom’s final years and the frequent flirtations with lower planar creatures. And with hero deities popping up all over, it’s a reasonable place for ascension rules.

The turtleship was from before too. Just very obscure.

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

Exactly fuel for the trad dwarfs to have a grudge against them and in dwarf language “gnome” is an insult for those other types. 😉

D&D General Rant: Sometimes I Hate the D&D Community

Over years being here I slowly developed an understanding for how specific people engaged. For those who I observed interacting in ways which were clearly unproductive I mentally added them to a list of who to avoid engaging with myself. I also learned specific subjects which are not worth...

D&D General Why Do People Hate Gnomes?

Rename Rock Gnomes to Forest Dwarf, Forest Gnome to Fey Dwarf. Svirfneblin can be Deep Dwarf. Give dwarves the same countless brands like elves do!

D&D 5E (2014) Chris Perkins and Todd Kenreck Talk About Mind Flayers

I would love a bit more lore about the legendary Mind Flayer empire and how it worked and organized. Reconstituting this lost empire seems to be one of the goals of individual mind flayers, but how does an empire of 100% super geniuses operate and organize? Just a little guidance about that...

D&D Celebrity Satine Phoenix & Husband Jamison Stone Accused Of Abuse Towards Freelancers

That streamed apology was really painful to watch happen. It is curious to hear she is a contractor at Apotheosis at the moment. Didn’t she just become the CEO with Stone “stepping aside”?

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

Almost certainly so. The similarities to a specific Time/Life map of the era is uncanny.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

I mean. There was lore to be scraped but it was a deep nitpicking to pull it out. If you’re not that kinda person who gets enjoyment from that, don’t. If you like to read through fiction for worldbuilding and not characters and plot, you might get something of an appreciation for early...

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

I bought all of them only to scrape for Greyhawk lore and geography. They were otherwise 😑.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

That’s something like I was assuming, but I think the Greyhawk run during the Dragon/Dungeon line from Paizo was a fine success, not a complete failure. Which is why I think Ruin Explorer’s hyperbole needed more defining.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

I know it’s twist on the line from Mean Girls about Fletch, which has become a meme, used over and over. Which is why I asked what you mean by it. You did evasively drop something about cats falling off a fence. You kept dodging what you meant by repeated complete failures. I just wanted to...

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

Which has irony because you seem to be connecting outcomes through nostalgia-colored glasses. “… make Greyhawk happen” means what? Even sustained publishing you said was partial failure.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

I however do not believe that there is a contest to win the setting championship and be The One. I believe the D&D hobby can support multiple settings, even multiple WotC-published settings. (Indeed it current is). And my stance is that a setting not attaining eternal publishing is not a...

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

This to me is setting partisan cheerleader stuff. That there can be only one winner and the rest get to be trolled as losers for trying, since they’re complete repeated failures.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

I know you tacked a “lol”, but what do we know about WotC‘s goals for each Greyhawk line (now and before) that you measure each run such that each come out as repeated complete failures? Is there a public benchmark? Like a fantasy setting playoff where fans swagger and taunt opposing settings...
