D&D 5E (2014) What do you think of this Kickstarter page?

Thirding A Tough More Glass. For the cover art, a party of characters cautiously exploring some ruin full of hidden dangers, displaying their unique talents always piques my curiosity more than static poses

Vecna v Acererak v Larloch? Who's The Most Powerful Lich?

Should've included Szass Tam in the question.

Artist Tony DiTerlizzi Reflects On 25 Years of Planescape

Four of Tony's signed Planescape prints occupy prominent spots in my gaming room. Would love to see WotC bring him back for work in future planar books.

Poll of the Week: What's the best gift for your GM?

Snacks to share if I'm lucky! Everybody did pitch in with me to unlock all the books on D&D Beyond, so there's that.

    Draenei

Yeah the actual racial abilities seem pretty straightforward: Heroic Presence: +2 to any one ability score Shadow Resistance: Resist Necrotic Gift of the Naaru: Healing Word 1/long rest Bonus Proficiency: Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion Bonus Tool: Jeweler's Tools or Tinker's Tools

Eberron It Is? [UPDATED & CONFIRMED!]

Well, I don't run Eberron but at least this means they'll finally release an official Artificer.

What's This Mysterious D&D Book? [UPDATED!]

Is that Halaster? Special cover for the Undermountain book? Edit: Missed the PHB title on the spine.

Monsters - older edition more challenging?

I share your concern with a lot of the stuff in the MM and the first few adventure hardcovers. Judging by the stuff in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I think the design team has started to remember what made monsters memorable. Just about everything has a unique quirk or two. Reminds me a lot of...

5e needs a Faiths and Avatars style book

SCAG had a good "in a nutshell" summary of each god and many had a unique bit of lore that was relevant to characters who worship them that seemed to ground them in the world better than previous takes on the theme. One thing I really don't think we'll see (or want) is stats and avatars and the...

Is Primus a Great God or Overgod in 5e?

Glad to see modrons getting love once again in 5e. I hated that 4e all but swept them under the rug. As for Primus, being the ruler of an entire plane seems like greater god territory to me.

Ways to Reward Your D&D Players

After the party tracked a group of arsonists from Neverwinter's "safe" district into the Scar area (a monster-infested ruin), their quarry split up. One of the trails ended at a rather large bloodstain and a boot with a foot in it (and a bulette burrow). Their stomping around was enough to...

Wait, is THAT how that works?!

in 2e PHB spell entries, Saving Throw: Neg means "negates" not "negative" much to the chagrin of the wizard's player. In either 1e or basic D&D as kids we thought "Turn Undead" meant turn into one, of the type that the cleric was high enough level to turn.

D&D 5E (2014) Balance, the final finalist word. Finally

Sorry I didn't have time to read the thread but I'm sure that Fragarach and the other Final Word swords have perfectly fine balance. Aren't they all at least +2 weapons? I don't even see why this is an issue.

How Mainstream is Dungeons and Dragons with 5e? Vox Mainstream.

I saw this yesterday as well, and thought it was a great introduction for people who might be put off by the pasty nerd reputation the game has among some.

    What is the bard's "fireball"?

Yeah I seem to find myself casting hypnotic pattern every fight. Being able to knock out a ranged enemy or two for most of the fight is pretty handy.

Elminster's Guide to Deities and Avatars

There are copious amounts of materials available online and in FR sourcebooks already, so IMO a summary, which while helpful, would be a secondary concern.

D&D 5E (2014) Spectral weapon and similar - who is the attacker

"Rulings Over Rules" in this case. The spell effect is the attacker. Here's another one: Does it make sense for someone with greater invisibility to get advantage on their spiritual weapon's attacks? I say no. Invisibility specifically excludes things the target isn't wearing or carrying, so...

    Shield master on twitter

So this ruling means you can't throw your light offhand weapon (or shoot your offhand hand crossbow) as a bonus action and then close with an enemy to melee them with your attack action? Stupid ruling is stupid and will be ignored.
