D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

I like having a huge selection to choose from, so they can keep putting them out. The more mechanics for me to kitbash with, the better.

    Star Wars: Andor

I feel that it was one of the weaker episodes. I really didn't feel a lot of tension, and everything seemed a bit broadcasted from 2 scenes away. The camera kept panning over to one guy, and then he died and got a closeup too; was I supposed to remember him from an earlier episode? Once again...

D&D General I have 6 questions about Paladins and 5 of them involve unusual ways in which 1 could lose his or her powers

    1. Old School paladins lost their status by doing Chaotic or Evil acts. They would not be beholden to evil laws and could break them at will. 2. Old School paladin's powers can't be lost due to the outcome of a trial. 3. It is unlikely that a LG god would demand their paladins to break their...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E Survivor - Subclasses (Part XIV: Wizard)

I don't think specialization needs to mean that a wizard is deficient in other areas. I feel that's kind of a balancing mechanic held over from 2e.

Dragonlance Dragonlance Adventure & Prelude Details Revealed

My biggest gripe with DL has always been its ridiculous interpretation of alignment. It's basically trying to shoehorn Moorcock's Law and Chaos into D&D's Good and Evil. Hearing Paladine, the chief God of Good, who lives on a cosmic plane of Goodness, inhabited by good celestials, escorted by...

    John. Wick. Four.

I can watch all the John Wick movies and feel that every fight is unique and interesting, while I was praying the battle in the 3rd Hobbit movie would just please end. Looking forward to the 4th.

    D&D 5E (2014) Combat as war, sport, or ??

And so combat stays at sport, where PCs can laugh about how many limbs they've gone through in the last 10 fights. But that is the D&D way.

    Star Wars: Andor

I will be profoundly disappointed if Luthien turns out to be a Jedi. Doubly so if he ignites a lightsaber.

    D&D 5E (2014) Combat as war, sport, or ??

Wouldn't it be weirder to assume that everyone used a modified WHFRPG crit table in their D&D games? Did you also remove all the spells to repair blindness and limb loss? Otherwise all those tables just become spell taxes for high level characters and the consequences of battle just become...
