Rings of Power -- all opinions and spoilers welcome thread.

That a shark-like sea monster would return to attack the survivors of a previous attack doesn't sound like a coincidence. It sounds like Quint's Indianapolis account.

I'm just pointing out that everytime the fellowship needed something poof an NPC showed up with exactly what they needed. I doubt even Tolkien could change your mind on the molehills you've chosen to die on. I'm just saying your incredulity isn't persuasive either. I mean, where is your...

Running into the stone trolls as pure Hobbit fan service. Running into Fangorn- couldn't have been any other ent. Running into Eomer- another ruler who had access to the unique insights the fellowship needed. Everytime they needed help, they ran into the lord of whatever land they were in who...

Oh, whatever. Its no more unlikely than being eaten up by Old Man Willow and immediately having a forest god show up who can deal with it. Characters running into people who can help them in unlikely places (like Faramir and Frodo) are a common occurrence in Tolkien.

D&D General Are all the freebies worth it when taking them means my Pc is a escaped slave that's wanted dead or alive and has a price of 58,290 Gold on his head?

I feel there is an overlap between DMs who include options on a chart that "I don't want to deal with this, but I'll include it because no one will ever roll it" and DMs who include 1-in-20 chance critical fumbles for high level fighters.

It all depends on how the DM handles it, and how your fellow players feel about it. If there are powerful bounty hunters who can unerringly track you and show up every game then its probably not worth it.

Actually, its exactly what you suggested. And still complaining about the format of the show even after the entire first season has aired is hardly (+).

[+] The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - SPOILERS ALLOWED

Money does talk, and a Tolkien show that is only bookended by actual Tolkien events wouldn't appeal to many people.
