Oh, whatever. Its no more unlikely than being eaten up by Old Man Willow and immediately having a forest god show up who can deal with it. Characters running into people who can help them in unlikely places (like Faramir and Frodo) are a common occurrence in Tolkien.

I feel there is an overlap between DMs who include options on a chart that "I don't want to deal with this, but I'll include it because no one will ever roll it" and DMs who include 1-in-20 chance critical fumbles for high level fighters.

It all depends on how the DM handles it, and how your fellow players feel about it. If there are powerful bounty hunters who can unerringly track you and show up every game then its probably not worth it.

Actually, its exactly what you suggested. And still complaining about the format of the show even after the entire first season has aired is hardly (+).

Money does talk, and a Tolkien show that is only bookended by actual Tolkien events wouldn't appeal to many people.
