I always thought it was unusual that the comic universe where everyone has a teenage sidekick decided to be the grimy dark one.

Only a handful of items/creatures caused limb loss, and some of them definitely remain in the same "there are no actual rules covering this" glory of editions past. How is losing magic items not a thing now?

I've always played in worlds of my own devising, so I don't care a whit about any established lore. I only buy books so I can find interesting mechanics that I can adapt to my own stuff.

Everytime I see these long thread titles, I think of Chuck Tingle.

In that case, why not Through Sunken Lands and Other Adventures, as a more mature take on the world (though 100% compatible with the system I believe). I'll mention Black Death, Honor + Intrigue, and For Coin & Blood for Age of Pike and Shot/Rennaissance fun.
