    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Amirad pauses then gives Austin a strange look. He turns abruptly back to the 'stalagmite' and hammers the pick deep into the clay.

"I just don't understand what purpose it could have. It does not seem to serve any mundane, mystical or religious purpose." Amirad takes out the miners pick and digs at it a little. " Perhaps the construction is covering something else?"

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Well it seems we've explored this whole level. Perhaps we should examine that strange stalagmite a little closer and then head up."

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Truly, cousin the grace of Solinar has flown through you with Power. Without you that fight could have been much more difficult. Praise Solinar." Amirad moves towards the elevator shaft. "Lidia could you please bring the light a little closer?" Amirad peers up and down, seeing if the shaft...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Well done cousin, I hope you are all right." Amirad sheaths his blades and loads his sling. "Shall we pursue them with caution?" He begins circling around the strange red stucco stalagmite maintaining a good distance, and heading toward the tunnel through which the skeletons fled. "This...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

There is a specific order to which actions take place in 1e, for each sides initiative. 1. Missile 2. Move 3. Melee 4. Spells so if turn undead is treated as a spell in this sequence, Amirad can attack, and then the Turn Undead would take effect.

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

I don't remember if turn undead should be treated as a spell. Officially this would allow us to attack before the Turn undead attack goes off. I believe I get two attacks (off hand) if I charge? Note - charging lowers Amirad's AC by 4. Amirad charges forward, bastard sword leading followed by a...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"That is unfortunate, cousin still I am sure we can find some sort of use for it." "Certainly Sarg. I am right behind you." Amirad proceeds with throwing axe in one hand, the other resting on his bastard sword. He glances at Lidia, and gives her a reasuring smile, "The good sargeant is quite...

Could we perhaps move forward to finding out whatever the scroll is and getting back to the entrance chamber/heading up the other passage?

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"That's true Srg. Stubbs. I hope he was alone, and we do not find any others like him." Amirad casts one last gaze around the chamber, "Well I say that we get out of this hole and return to the entrance chamber, then take the left hand passage." He looks down at the body, "Isn't right to...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Amirad removes the axe from the erstwhile student of the old School. His fingers trace the symbol of Solinar's light above his forehead,"May the grace of Solinar guide your soul to its proper rest." Amirad gazes carefully around the room his divine senses alert for further peril. detect evil...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Were this monster not a vile undead, I would hesitate to use it for target practice." Amirad moves to the fore, pauses briefly to see if anyone else will join the attack and hurls a throwing axe, his bastard sword loose, but ready in his other hand. The missile thuds into the cowering undead...

Gamer Terms/Jargon that Needs to Change

Here I thought the OP would start with the term "Level" Which incidentally was addressed in the 1978 1st edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Players Handbook as being possibly confusing but decided to stict to the 'traditional' uses of the term level. (P.8) And even suggested contemplated...

Well Scott here is my summary of the character background we hashed out so far: Minor merchant House Kalveten sought to form and alliance with House Harrelsen, hence your mother and my aunt (name? Yolanda) married into House Harrelsen. "Something" happened and a rift between the families...

[Recruiting Fresh Again!] The Old School: 1e AD&D

eh, its not that bad. Seems fairly functional. Its too bad, I don't seem to have any of the old PMs about our characters (that I seem to remember - my memory is a little foggy). Still most of the ideas came out. Should probably go through the talking the talk thread too to see if there is...

[Recruiting Fresh Again!] The Old School: 1e AD&D

I reread the IC thread this Sunday, and I'm pretty excited about picking it up again. Wanted to find Amirad's voice again :) Also great that Lidia and Austin shall also be continuing. I am confused as to what is suppose to be going on with that Doman fellow. My main concern with option 1...

My preference is for 2 or 3. I don't want to lose the bit of progress and development that has happened so far.
