D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

It's really just a glorified name for a highly detailed map, its not actually an atlas at all. But its mostly amazing, they miss a couple of things, but that is rare and they catch alot of really obscure things like the Blade Kingdoms. This leads though to it covering an awful lot of stuff...

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

I've seen at least a couple on the internet. I mean it might not be alot, but its more then zero. Especially among Dragonborn fans. My purpose was to give reassurance to them.

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

Well folks looking into the Tymanther capital, could still stumble upon its second city. I mean its an unfortunate oversight in both cases because those are some very cool locations.

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone. Folks are assuming just because a location isn't on the map that its been retconned away, but I found an example that disproved this. In the Mythal section it mentions Myth Nantir, the Sea Elf city that grants water...

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

The problem is spelljammering does things nautical ships doesn't have to worry about, like approaching planets from space and greater light speeds. This is where it runs into problems. There are those who explain it in much better detail on YouTube. I'll find a video later.

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

Not just the format, but like the Spelljamming rules were very poor as others have pointed out. But alot of incredible art in both slipcases and the Spelljammer races were good and both had good monsters, but both made SCAG look good terms of lore depth.

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

It was the best product, but it was also lead by Kieth Baker himself, so it never got poisoned by bad ideas from WotC. The less influence WotC D&D team had on a setting book the better it usually ended up. WotC often its outclassed by the quality of 3rd party setting books. If the SCAG had had...

Did you miss the UA with the other blatant Darksun subclasses? Like Gladitor and Sorcerer King Pact? Defiled Sorcerer?

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

Perhaps the best post in the thread from someone who gets it. But I don't buy into the places PC won't visit thing, because they entire setting is designed as being filled with interesting locations to visit from North to South, From East to West. I will admitted they liked segmenting areas...

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

Thing is is that FotA is backed up by Wayfarer's Guide and E:RftLW. Planescape isn't, it and Spelljammers products were mostly so bad they made the SCAG look good. So the next 5e Planescape and Spelljammer products have nothing to lean on, except Spelljammer races. I mean at least the AiF...

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

Wild Magic is good, but not broken, it is the target that many of the weak feats failed to meet. It's less broken and more good vs bad feats. Edit: my brain confused Wild Magic for Genie Magic, the basic point remains, the core problem is weak feats, not broken feats. There are a bunch of...

Are you suggesting bare breasts should be in children's books? I think you'd get complaints from parents.

Well given how unbalanced the feats are, they need better playtesting for other materials and even major lore changes.

That is no replacement for the public playtests, the quality of what they produce with proper public playtests is almost always better and more reliably so that just private playtests.

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

For classic setting products like Planescape, Ravenloft, and Spelljammer you are far too generous. I'd give Ravenloft a 4 or 5. Planescape a 3 and except for the Spelljammer races, which were 10s, I'd give Spelljammer slipcase a 1. Only the Eberron Books get higher then a 6, those were well made...

D&D 5E (2024) Odyssey of the Dragonlords Remastered Edition Kickstarter is LIVE

They've added new Stretch Goals, Nix (a race created by Nix associated with Dreams, Prophecy, and Darkness) at $325,000usd and Titan Pact at $450,000usd, some pretty cooling sounding stuff. I really hope they make those stretch goals, especially the Nix.
