to be fair, the dialogue for that fight could be extremely funny. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU LEARNED HOW TO SUMMON A FIRE STORM BY KILLING A MINDFLAYER?! HOW ARE THOSE EVEN RELATED?! THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW SPELLS!"

i mean, yeah, i can't really add anything to this other then a5e feels like if someone took 5e and actually finished making the game. i might check out that 5e victoriana book though, since i plan to run zeitgeist at some point and it might have some things i can pull from it.

i guess my thing is that at some point it's just math for the sake of math. like why am i adding +20 to the save? just give me the success at that point. this is an absolutely bizarre way of looking at things that i simply cannot understand. you have to remember, though, that enemy save DCs...
