    D&D 5E (2014) Treantmonk - Order of Scribes - Shenanigans!

If I'm DMing, trying that Misty Step thing would get you a thorough eyerolling and a 'no, good try'. Basically, heroic adventuring by means of hiding behind a hill and casting spells through your flying unhittable quasi-familiar.

D&D Movie/TV Chris Pine tells Gamesradar+ he's "pretty confident" Honor Among Thieves sequel will happen

Oof no, not yet. You need to have at least one financially successful movie before you even THINK about cinematic universes. Focus on making a good movie. Forget about sequels for the moment.

D&D Movie/TV Chris Pine tells Gamesradar+ he's "pretty confident" Honor Among Thieves sequel will happen

I don't think Marvel's budget has been the limiting factor there, but simply the incredibly crunched time that they allow their digital artists to try to keep the FX up to date with late script changes etc.

    D&D 5E (2014) [Let's Read] Vault 5e: Uncharted Journeys

I bought this with the intention of using it in a Dragonlance campaign. It's good for what it does, but i think narratively inflexible. The assumption is that the PCs prepare to depart in an orderly manner, spend X days on their scheduled journey, and then arrive at (as @overgeeked points...

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

It looks increasingly likely they'll end up owning it without having to negotiate a purchase price at all, to be honest. Though speaking purely for myself, i honestly don't understand the whole 'pilgrimage' aspect of the Lake Geneva house. I mean sure, it's got some historical significance...

    IRON DM 2023 Tournament Thread

Reckon i might have gone the horror route with this ingredient set. PCs as goobers filming a 'most haunted places!' reality show in a ruined monastery, where on moonless nights when the wind gets up a ghostly bell tolls silently and summons pale lovecraftian spiders from Elsewhere to eat...

    Dragonlance Dragons of Renewal Re-Upload

In novel canon, it's Gilthanas and Silvara who actually discover the eggs and alert the metallic dragons. It doesn't happen on screen, and the main characters only find out what happened when a bunch of angry dragons show up and offer to help Laurana, but they're basically the ones who run...

    Dragonlance Dragons of Renewal Re-Upload

Honestly, that's not really too much of a stretch. PCs know about draconians but not the eggs, the bulk of the metallic dragons are sequestered on their private island and know about the eggs but not the draconians. But Silvara knows about both, and it doesn't take a huge leap of intellectual...

    Dragonlance Dragons of Renewal Re-Upload

Thanks for that, I missed them the first time round, and I was thinking stealing bits of several of the old modules for my upcoming Dragonlance campaign. Dragons of Deceit is high on the list, because it's a Big Deal in the story and changes the course of the war, but nonetheless didn't get...

Jane Austen/Regency flavor to throw into an adventure?

A regency-era Ravenloft setting is something I’ve had bubbling away in the back of my mind for many years and have copious notes on. That time period is much better suited to Ravenloft’s gothic vibes than conventional d&d approximate-renaissance anyway, and many Ravenloft domains are straight...

Dragonlance [Let's Read] Tasslehoff's Pouches of Everything Revised

That's generally my opinion too. Pouches has a big win in the races department. I have some quibbles, like the fact that so many of the dwarf subraces seem optimised to be armoured casters, and the rather pointless natural armour on the half-ogre, but it covers a lot more ground and most of...

Dragonlance [Let's Read] Tasslehoff's Pouches of Everything Revised

Continuing my semi-review, and in the light of planning a War of the Lance era game... Path of the Dragon Totem barbarian doesn't really have much canonical support that I'm aware of, but I'd allow it as a more martial way of expressing a character with a way-back draconic ancestor, rather than...

    IRON DM 2023 Tournament Thread

Congratulations @Whizbang Dustyboots ! Nice work. Dammit, I thought I had a shot at that one. My miserable iron DM record, winning the whole thing once, unceremoniously turfed in the first match Every Other Time, continues 😂 After making my entire entry dinosaur-themed to make sure I nailed...

Dragonlance [Let's Read] Tasslehoff's Pouches of Everything Revised

As someone who will likely soon be running Dragonlance and so bought this, the Dragonlance Companion, Jeremy Forbring’s equivalent book (Peoples and Paragons), and will also be purchasing the Aesthetic’s Almanac equivalent, I’d say … it depends what you want. This book has the best-designed set...

D&D General D&D Canon - why is it important and how does it affect your game?

I want canon to exist, because it lessens my workload as a GM. It gives me a nice backup to work with should my PCs go off in an unexpected direction. It gives my players options and inspiration for their PCs, to help immerse themselves in the world and the lore, to ground their PCs in the...
