2000 words is easy. 750 words is brutal.

Planescape Manual of the Planes for 5e on DMSGuild

I bought Planescape, the FR grey box, Dark Sun Revised, and two Al-Qadim boxed sets for $10 each in the late 90s when TSR was circling the drain and the big Australian game importer (there really was only one back then) was having a massive fire sale on their stuff.

D&D 5E (2014) Chains of Asmodeus: Official 286-Page Nine Hells Book & Adventure Released!

I genuinely have no idea why Adrian Tchaikovsky doesn't get more recognition. He's got a list as long as your arm of high-quality output, almost nobody writes more books faster, he just won a Hugo, but he seems to have largely slipped under the geek culture radar and doesn't get talked about...

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse Review

I didn't buy Radiant Citadel because adventure compilations aren't my thing, but I'd be interested in this. Is there a decent San Citlan setting book available on DMsGuild, anyone know?

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse Review

Between divinations, teleportation, plane shifting, and other transport magic like Wind Walk, in my experience once you get into the world of 7th level spells and greater, there's not really any such thing as an actual plotted 'adventure' any more, just a sandbox the size of the entire multiverse.

    D&D 5E (2014) Twinning Dragons Breath Spells?

I know this was a typo, but I kinda want to play this class.

D&D 5E (2014) If WotC Did A New Setting Search

I think the likelihood of WotC ever running a setting search again is low, for quite a number of reasons. First of course is that WtC very very clearly don't like doing settings. Even when they do a setting product these days, it's generally an adventure in disguise. Second - WotC has a very...

D&D 5E (2014) If WotC Did A New Setting Search

And they're 18 months late on delivery, and have been making empty promises for a year, just reneged on a significant portion of the quickstarter and promised refunds that have not eventuated, and don't respond to communication via pretty much any means. Jerks.

D&D 5E (2014) If WotC Did A New Setting Search

Did Saladin Ahmed ever end up writing more Arab-adjacent fantasy after Throne of the Cresecent Moon?

WotC Hasbro Earnings Call: WotC/BG3 carrying Hasbro

Anyone know what Hasbro's commercial arrangement is re the Transformers movies? Because Rise of the Beasts should be contributing to the bottom line there somewhere, unless at some stage Hasbro sold off they Transformers film rights for a lump sum and doesn't get a cut any more.

D&D General Help! My Players Want To Meet Primus...

I don't think you need this crisis at all, the PCs are going to have their hands full just getting Primus to notice them. If you're going to get Primus's attention, you're going to have to do it in an orderly way. You can't just jump the queue and dial him up, there's going to be minions to go...

D&D General Baldur's Gate has great companion character arcs. Are such things possible or even desirable in published adventure paths?

I agree that in general these sort of character arcs are what happens to other PCs, in a conventional D&D game. But there are exceptions. I think CoS could have done a lot more with Ireena's character arc and development, for instance. She was integral to the story, but she just didn't get...

Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos - First Party Review

Consequences in a school-like environment are a tricky thing. If there's an in-game benefit to studying hard, then a significant amount of PCs are going to study hard. The real-life motivation for NOT studying hard is 'this is boring!', and of course PCs don't get bored unless their players...

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

And, frankly, it strikes me as a bit in bad taste to be using Ernie's very serious illness as a stick to beat Lanasa. I know there's people on here who've known Ernie for many years, and this can't be an easy time for them, or for Ernie's family. Might be an idea to just leave that stuff out...

    D&D 5E (2014) Iron Kingdoms 5e

I read somewhere that PP have done some preliminary design work for the people of Zu, and that they have a Persian-influenced culture and aesthetic. There's almost no detail, I don't even know whether they use warjacks or warbeasts, though the Protectorate colonists on the continent would be...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Cohors Cthulhu, A Life Well Lived, Mister Vampire, and more

'Impossible' is a pretty big word, but Kobold Press is a decent example. The kickstarter pays for all the backers to get their copy, and a nice big print run, but once that print run is gone, it can be a long time before they get around to doing another one, and it can be real hard to lay your...

D&D 5E (2014) Koboa, 3rd Party Setting Spotlighted at DnDBeyond

Yeah, I own the Legendary Games books and backed Koboa. As far as i can tell, Boricubos is much more tightly Caribbean focused, while Koboa draws influences from a broader South American geographical area. And then there's Heroes of Mythic Americas, which is even more geographically ambitious...

    D&D 5E (2014) Iron Kingdoms 5e

The five new PC species are bogrin, farrow, pygmy trolls, Idrian marchfolk (humans, basically), and soulless. The three new classes are the bone grinder (sort of an alchemist/hunter/spellcaster who collects bits of monsters to gather power), shaman, and warlock (this is the Iron Kingdoms...
