Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

IMO there are many instances where speeding is safer than not. One example is going quickly around a semi truck in the interstate instead of passing it at a snail pace. There’s also a weird effect where speeding can cause you to have increased awareness of surroundings.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

Two thoughts. 1. The movie Phone Booth really didn't age well. 2. They really need to solve for public toilets next.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

One might say the conservativeness of pizza fans is exhausting.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

What is everyones favorite/most amusing business phrases? Mine was from our offshore support in India. Almost every communication with everyone from there included at some point, 'Thank you kindly for doing the needful'.

    Roll for Effect or Intent?

I think there is a big boundary over what counts as valid intents. Like a player in d&d typically won’t have the intent to get to the ship before it sails. That may be his overarching goal but his intent is always the here and now, can I convince this guard to let me past so that I am one step...

    Intrusive Ads

The absolute irony here is that this is about site ads. If I’m paying either by exposure to ads or by paying to get the ads removed then we could frame that as prolific posters who cause others to sub are paying the site with their time/posts. If they are paying the site then the site offering...

    Intrusive Ads

Yea. I guess free to play pc games are paying you to play them. And my friends once provided snacks to me when I ran a game for them. I’m such a paid dm. /sarc

Granting a gift is not paying. Especially when it’s a gift that costs one nothing.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

I normally assume that if we are at the point of talking about rules problems that the possible approximations have been considered and already rejected. If they were accepted then it wouldn’t be much of a rules problem anymore? One might also suggest refluffing over outright houseruling...

Tall vs broad advancement in RPGs

Agreed. Personally I prefer playing broad but character building for tall.

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

Honestly all the classes could have a pact subclass.

And that time horizon could be product dependent.

    D&D 5E (2024) Rate D&D 2024

Yes. I’m saying the number of reviews is ‘wrong’ aka not complete. We know this based on the numbers of reviews on dmg and mm. My guess is there is a time horizon where reviews older than X aren’t being shown.

    D&D 5E (2024) Rate D&D 2024

We know PHB sales much better than MM and DMG. Always has, always will. So I don’t know why the numbers on amazon are that way, but I know they are wrong.

And my point was that to make such ratings you implicitly must be comparing to other beers.
