Your table only has to agree. I use the cosmology like Michael Moorcock did. For a cosmology though the nuances don't have to agree across tables. The problem comes from people thinking the PC's have to base their personalities on the alignments.

Alignment has been used to great effect by a great many people. Its a cosmology not a roleplaying shackle and that is what people mess up about it. If I play D&D I'm using alignment, even in 5e. It works for the cosmology.
