Kickstarter Questions on Kickstarter and the Tabletop Community

No to the first. If I'm backing something I like to give enough money where it feels like I'm actually helping? I dont know if that came out right. So case in point I recently backed the RealmWorlds Kickstarter. I backed it for $35 so at the bare minimum I'll get the full version of the software...

Pathfinder 1E Your Pathfinder campaigns - running Adventure Paths, published adventures, or homebrew?

I've been a Pathfinder AP subscriber since the beginning so I pretty much have them all. I pretty much only intend to run AP's and published adventures from here on in unless I'm running an introductory game. I've done the whole homebrew thing and in the end the players could give a crap about...

The "3.XE/PF Crowd" - where will they go? What will they play?

At this point D&D Next isnt even a blip on my radar. I havent downloaded the play test to look at it or even try to put together a play test group. I'm actually pretty satisfied with Pathfinder as a game and Paizo as a company. Since the start of 4E I've seen that I dont NEED to play D&D to fell...

    Kobold Quarterly no more...

The magazine was NEVER all Pathfinder. It was a mixture of 4E, Pathfinder and AGE (Dragon Age). They have pretty much always said that they print what gets submitted and as it turns out there wasn't as much 4E submitted content.

Are you tired of all the self promotion and kickstarter threads?

Being that I've supported several Kickstarters in the past few months (Reaper Bones, Rappan Athuk and Tabletop Forge) and will be supporting a few more in the coming days (M&M 10th Anniversary and Settlers of Catan tray) I'd rather see more Kickstarter stuff than the same old fights and...

    Razor Coast: Apology and refund

*looks over at RAPPAN ATHUK Hardcover on shelf* Yeah, because Frog God Games as well as everyone else involved in the project is COMPLETELY unreliable.

    Mutants and Masterminds?

    edited: Pointless response.

    More WotC reprints.

I actually have that book as well as Scourge of the Slave Lords. I'd actually like a hardcover of these along the lines of the Rise of the Runelords and Shackled City Hardcovers.

    More WotC reprints.

The adventure compilations are the only thing that slightly interest me. I have 2 copies of T1-4 (one that's my orignal from 85-86? that is beat to CRAP. and a second one I got off Ebay a few years ago that is sealed in plastic.) so those are of little interest to me. I have most of the other...

Big changes a'coming! Merging the D&D forums

Not a fan of this at all. Don't really want to read about 4E and D&D Next threads as I'm not interested in either of those systems. General topics I'm fine with and are pretty much the reason I still visit here. If those are going to be harder to peruse or access due to the anticipate flood of...

    Tabletop Gaming and Intellectual Conceit

Okay. To be fair though you brought the word sociopath into play here not me, but you're right. Our experiences are obviously different. Let's just agree to disagree.

    Tabletop Gaming and Intellectual Conceit

Also, and I really have to address this, there are people out in the world right now as we speak who have families and friends. Who have careers and interests outside of gaming and are perfectly nice. And who are STILL sociopaths. The above things and being a sociopath are NOT mutually...

    Tabletop Gaming and Intellectual Conceit

I know that there are decent people who happen to be gamers out there. I know a few of them. My current group is made up of EXCELLENT human beings and I value them greatly. That being said every time I've had to look to put a group together it's a nightmare. Either people have no respect for...

Are we looking at an RPG Renassiance (moved to Tabletop Gaming)

Personally I'm seeing alot more talk about boardgames and miniatures games than RPG's. That's because boardgames are alot more socially acceptable than RPG's out in the world. When people cite the numbers at GenCon they understand that there's a huge contingent of people who play games other...

    Tabletop Gaming and Intellectual Conceit

I find that gamers are typically very smart intellectually. But gamers tend to lack Wisdom, common sense and empathy. My own intelligence is fairly average in that I can understand concepts but make no special effort to commit otherwise useless facts to memory. As long as I know how to find...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo's Ultimate Equipment book...

It's usefulness for me lies in the fact that while I'm a subscriber to their RPG line and AP line there a bunch of their books that I dont have. Some of those books have magic items in them. This book has most of those magic items in one place / book. Did I realistically expect this book to...

D&D 4E Poll about your interest in 4e

I played as part of a playtest group here in NYC. I didn't think it was a bad game but it was during that session where I started to really doubt if I would be supporting this edition. I bought the gift box and poured through the rules still with a not so sure feeling. Thought to myself maybe...

GMs & DMs: What do you do with (severely) unbalanced adventuring parties?

There are a few things to consider here. If you're home brewing / creating your own adventures? Then you should probably play to the strengths to of that unbalanced party. It's really not that difficult. however if you've told your players that you want to run a game that involves plenty of...

    The Cabin in the Woods

One thing though, I've seen the movie and I'm guessing other people who have posted here have seen the movie but there are likely people who are going to poke thier head in here to read the thread who havent seen the movie. You might want to put up a spoiler tag. This is one of those movies...

    Reaper Miniatures Kickstarter

Oh my God. This is the most AMAZINGLY AWESOME Kickstarter EVER. I'm proud to have been a part of it. Now I'm off to clear out some more closet space for these mini's when they arrive in March.
