    3I/ATLAS

For me, it isn't so much a matter of "interesting" as it is that discovering extraterrestrial life in any form is going to have a much more massive impact on science and our place in the universe than the discovery of any new terrestrial species (except perhaps finding a remnant Neanderthal...

Not in that one specifically, but that is a culmination video of a bunch of videos on the subject. Watch those too.

D&D 5E (2024) Help Me Fill Out a Treasure Hoard

The hoard was made to draw Tiamat into the world. I think it is more interesting to see how the PCs employ that, rather than curate a bunch of items purpose built for the PCs and their quest.

    What was your 2nd RPG?

My brothers and I started with BECMI when my parents bought us the Basic Set. We played that for years before we discovered AD&D. Sometime around the same time, I discovered Dragon magazine and all the ads for all the other RPGs out there. I don't remember what was first, but it was either Star...

D&D 5E (2024) Help Me Fill Out a Treasure Hoard

I include the deck in literally every D&D campaign I run. I am not sure this is the right moment, however.

D&D 5E (2024) Help Me Fill Out a Treasure Hoard

Indeed it is. Classic vizier who usurped the crown. Stat wise -- very high level wizard. The PCs were all directly wronged by the Susurper in their backstories, and they are building their own power as well as a coalition of factions to take him down. There are dragons in the region.

    Why do we need thieves??

The same reason real teams need specialists. In the worlds where "thieves" are a thing, need arises from the presence of theifly things. It is the same as hackers in cyberpunk and occultists in Victorian horror. Now, if you want to argue that you "can do that with skills" the answer would be...

D&D 5E (2024) Help Me Fill Out a Treasure Hoard

In my campaign, the PCs are trying to finance a revolution (as well as find cool gear to take on the BBEG). They recently went to explore a location where they discovered that a cult had tried to summon Tiamat from Avernus by amassing a treasure hoard worthy of her. The ritual was interrupted by...

Fantasy Grounds Is Going Free To Play

He did not say the products use AI. He said he used AI in his personal games. And then you decided he was a monster or some nonsense.

We really need a AI tag

Just like a number of other hot button issues. Just eliminate it from the discourse and save everyone the time and the heartache.

Fantasy Grounds Is Going Free To Play

I am not sure that it is useful or appropriate to leverage moral judgements over something so ultimately trivial, especially on this board where arguing about sensitive topics is largely verboten. But, you know, you do you.

Fantasy Grounds Is Going Free To Play

I am very happy with FGU as a desktop tool. But I have run into real people in the real world that would not use it because you have to load it like a program, rather than run it through a browser. My point was simply that reducing price is not the only barrier.

    Playing "Adventurers" As Actual Adventurers

This is the whole point. Stories of survival against insurmountable odds are inherently dramatic. Except in TTRPGs, it seems.
