Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

Yeah, for instance, they're undoubtedly factoring in the cost for all the DDB coding. I'm pretty sure they said the bundle price included these DLCs at their full price. They weren't discounted as part of the bundle. IIRC, the digital bundle didn't really have a discount. It was only the...

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

What would have been really neat is if they'd gone farther afield than Baldur's Gate. For instance, Waterdeep has a well-known vampire lord (Artor Morlin) with his own mini-dungeon (The Fireplace Level, so called because it's one level of a larger dungeon known as the Dungeon of the Crypt)...

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

I agree - the content is decent, but there should have been more. At the very least, they could have given us an actual stat block for Astarion instead of just telling us to use the base vampire spawn stat block ... and I haven't even played BG3, so I don't get all the Astarion hype. I do like...

D&D's Forgotten Realms Books Hit With Delays in Europe and Asia

I was given a gift card for my FLGS for my birthday back in March. I decided to hang on to it and use it to buy the alt cover Eberron book in August ... I am still waiting, and it sounds like I'll have to wait even longer. Maybe I should just use my gift card for something else. I could get the...

D&D General Is the SCAG Still Useful?

Several? There's only one poster between your post and mine that mentions the Spellplague, and they're just talking about 4e stuff.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

They may very well tone it down or shove it into the background, but I highly doubt they would erase it entirely. OK. They did experiment with elemental-themed cleric domains way back at the very beginning of 5e but they never made it through to final development. I keep asking them to revisit...

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

Regarding point #2, as has been mentioned upthread, the new FR books mention drow enslaving surface dwellers. Regarding point #6, it’s already possible in the default 5e rules to be a cleric without a deity, so that’s not an issue.

D&D General Is the SCAG Still Useful?

They didn’t retcon it as in the Spellplague never happened. They retconned it so most of the Spellplague’s changes were undone via the Second Sundering (an echo of the first one). In fact, in some respects, the Second Sundering not only undid 4e’s changes but also some of 3e’s. Mike Schley’s...

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

FR still has a bit of metaplot. The newest books advance the timeline to 1501 DR, and they make mention of events from pretty much every FR adventure released since the D&D Next adventure.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

Given how tiny the Tyr region is, I could be up for a new Dark Sun that takes place on, say, the opposite side of the planet.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I’m not sure all mention of slavery will be scrubbed from a new version of Dark Sun. The brand new Forgotten Realms books mention the drow of Menzoberranzan enslaving surface dwellers. It doesn’t go into any great detail but it’s still there!

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

The next Eberron book has a production error (warping covers). They recalled the whole print run, but due to the printers being busy printing all the FR books, they couldn’t slot the Eberron book back into the system until later. It sucks for those of us who like Eberron, but there’s nothing...
