D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

I actually double checked something and IT WOULDN'T WORK Repelling Blast and Agonizing Blast specify that they apply to WARLOCK cantrips, while Innate Sorcery only works with SORCERER spells.

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

I love getting two so conflciting messages - it's either full of cheese or not much better than a Fighter with Heavy Crossbow. At least we agree it owuld work, i guess.

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

So hypotethically speaking Rogue 1/Sorcerer 1/Celestial Pact Warlock 6 with Crossbow Weapon Mastery, True Strike, Repelling Blast and Agonizing Blast can: Shoot someone with true strike, dealing them d6 + CHA from True Strike +CHA from Agonizing Blast + CHA from Radiant Soul AND push them 10...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

I by general rule ignore his twitter posts because it has been very much a meme he's been often blatantly wrong, like ruling Paladin cannot divine smite with unarmed strike because unarmed strike is not a weapon attack, even when it is classified as a melee weapon attack. The enemies can just...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

Isn't it also open from the bottom? Any enemy with burrowing speed can bypass it. Also, by the time PCs exit, there should be an ambush waiting for them.

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

Sounds like bad players or poorly set expectations. And, as I have said many times, you could simply tell them no.

I dare to say, that is a very toxic mindset.

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

I like how Draw Steel fixed this issue by have PCs start at middle of their pwoer and make both sides stronger the longer the fight goes.

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

There is also the blatant disregard for Rules as Intended and exploiting vageuness in Rules as Written. If the rule say you cannot take more than one long rest in less than 24 hours, it is obvious to me that the rule was put in to ensure you are not long resting after every single encounter...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

I like kicking butt and looking awesome but as a player I would probably walk out from any table that tries this naughty word after angry argument. I would rather not play at all than play with people who want to forcibly reduce the shared story we're telling to rules exploits.

I pray this is not come to be, UB line turned Magic into "pay to ad" - pay money to be shown advertising of different product. Doing this to dnd will kill the game harder than ogl

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

They decided it's not their playstyle. My players woudl rather end fights quickly and I guess tactics tiny hut is good forjsut aren't their style. I still think insulting their intelligence for disagreeing with "the meta" like Longinus did is uncalled for and rude.

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

You know what? I was already annoyed by jur judgmental behavior, but if you insult my players intelligence, then I'd rather not be having conversation with you at all. They misread the spell, it happens. There is nothing more to it. And then you can bear consequences of that. Some of which...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

I assure you, the rule was written to ensure that PCs will not spam long rest but keep adventuring. Demainding the whole party does nothing to wait 24 hours just so they can have long rest after slightest sign of resistance, is exploiting blind spot in the rule and it breaks verisimilitude...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

I do beleive in most of these there is sitll time pressure. If not the dungeon itself then from PCs or the world, no settign exists in a vaccum. That is one of the options as well. Leomund's Tiny Hut has casting time of 1 minute. First and last time my players tried to use it was in the...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

Reaidng the rule and then going "so here is my 100% legal epxloit" is bad faith reading to me. You read not to understand, but to find weaknesses to exploit. If you keep screaming how your bad faith interpretation of the rules is correct, then I will reject that bad faith interpretation. One...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

The problem is that we can show you infintie examples of the time pressure being present in the back or implied, and you can dismiss all with this argument. It's a thought-termianting cliche that shuts down discussion.
