Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Not really responding to you or anyone specifically, but just posting as a PSA in case some readers aren't aware: It's possible to set watching threads default to "off" in account Preferences, along with many other types of alerts. I turned off auto-watch a long time ago, and it helps me a lot...

I'm not seeing that setting anymore, either. I definitely used to see it, as I had changed it from the default. The actual value hasn't changed, though; only the ability to change it. Other users have mentioned odd changes in their accounts since the last update, so sounds like it's the site...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I sometimes suspect The Algorithm is pulling humanity's leg. .

    Second person plural pronoun

Well someone who says y'all would likely say y'all's seats, so if you're just looking at you all as that expanded form, then you all's is the possessive. That probably sounds a little odd in speech, though; but might be an option if you're doing this for some sort of language building...

    Second person plural pronoun

Definitely! We heard it first as kids watching Electric Company, too. That's what made the bit in Goonies extra funny!

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I feel honored to be witness to such dizzying new heights of mediocrity in spam technology!

    Second person plural pronoun

Yeah, you're right, of course. I just edited my post as you replied. It's definitely a regional thing. I'm "y'all" predominates, while "you guys" is the outlier.

    Second person plural pronoun

In my personal experience, "you guys" is pretty informal, even verging on humorous. (But that's a regional and pop cultural thing, I imagine.) I agree with those saying "you all" as the best option, as it can be formal, it's ungendered, and (I think?) it's fairly independent of dialect.

Yeah, I admit I can totally see Jiminy Cricket as a Jedi master.

Effects of tariffs on game sales (e.g. US/Canada shipments) (No Politics!)

There's a copy-paste of the text in a spoiler block in my last post, if you want to read it without clicking a link.

    How often do you play?

Almost never in the last 6 or 7 years or so; my rpging is mostly by osmosis nowadays. Factoring in halting attempts at soloing, I voted "a couple times a year", but tbh that's probably over-optimistic.

Effects of tariffs on game sales (e.g. US/Canada shipments) (No Politics!)

Here's a link to an unrolled version that might be easier to read (NOTE there are some nsfw words): https://skyview.social/?url=bsky.app%2Fprofile%2Ftheonetar.bsky.social%2Fpost%2F3lhn6ol6dpf2v&viewtype=unroll And here's a copy paste, with memes stripped out:

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

That's one of those errors that's become so prevalent (and in sufficiently elite contexts) that the wrong usage is mutating into correct usage.

Effects of tariffs on game sales (e.g. US/Canada shipments) (No Politics!)

I think might be the worst effect: the uncertainty. I worry that we're all stuck in a constant state of "will he or won't he?" for the foreseeable future, as the tariffs take on the aspect of a cudgel rather than economic device.

No, but I've definitely not watched it dozens of times.

How do you put aside your own feelings when reading?

I don't (or maybe can't) necessarily put my feelings aside, but I do try to be aware of how I react to it and why. That's critical thinking skills 101, imo.

D&D 5E (2024) Is anyone at WOTC paying attention to what they print any more?

It's also still a Con save as "carrion crawler mucus" on the 2024 poison table.
