    Still using that book. Consulted Powers and Pantheons last night. Bought pdfs of them as well. New playersread wrote ups on their deity, ive converted spells and due to BG3 the dead three and Shar/Shares backstry has been used. Shars probably the big bad next game.

    Yup. D&D design is constrained by expectations of it being D&D. Classes are going nowhere, we,'re probably stuck with dailies and 20 levels vs say 10. Might make a better game but that game wont be D&D. You would really need to do some polling over dumping something like alignment.

    Its because they also cranked up player damage. Anything with a bad wisdom save paralyze it. Double damage. Most/all of the warrior types have nova abilities.

    1. Players like rolling dice 2. DM rolls high with AoE vs players they all take full damage. Removes player agency. 3. To much inertia WotC wont change it anyway

    Im leaning towards 3 saves myself. Blend of 3E and 4E not NADs though as outlined above.

    I make the monster nearly immune because if its not command its tashas hideous laughter. Or fear, hold person, hold monsters, slow. Tashas mind whip hell even sleep. BG3 gave some bosses +10 on all saves. And you can still land spells on them. Martials can't kinda kill them in one round anyway.

    I gave a Marilith unstoppable 12, greater magic resistance and legendary saves. Think it lasted 3 rounds vs lvl 12. Would have lasted 1 or 2 without.

    Im thinking proficiency bonus to all saves with a +1-3 bonus as a class bonus or 3.X class saves +proficiency saves. Proficiency bonus+ martials get +2 all saves, half casters +2 on 2 saves, +2 on a single save for primary casters. Even as borked as that us a caster gets to fuel spell DCs...

    Heh took your advice about playing older D&D during playtest. We switched back to 2E and clones. Pre 3E creatures are class cannons generally. 4E onwards to many hp. 3.5 whatever its flaws might have git that part right. Played 2E earlier this year abd a 1E adventures with C&C.

    I think its done on certain types of steak. Pan fried then into an oven. Maybe vice versa. I hate cooking steak so pay someone else to cook it. Still feel sorry for my first girlfriend. She ate my first cooked steak lol. Think I paid for takeout that night.
