I've seen a couple that have said they've gone from 5E to Pathfinder because of the lack of options/customization in 5E. (Players were bored.)

Slumbering Tsar is only available as a Pathfinder version at the moment so those of you lamenting you didn't get the S&W version can stop lamenting. :) And, yes, the adventure is awesome. :) It's the best adventure I've ever run.

I'm surprised they didn't simply release the 4E Special Edition PHB since (IIRC) it had some errata corrected in it.

What has made it different (and appealing) for me is that the PCs make the story - not "The Circle of Eight" or "The Seven Sisters" or anything like that. There is no real "metaplot." It's designed with much more of a sandbox philosophy.

Cuz 4E was the suckiest bunch of suck that ever sucked. :) (And WotC's promotion of 4E was even more of a turn-off than the game itself.)

I think the D&D team deserves the praise for the game they made - 5E is a good game with good core products. Besides, as needs to be said every year, simply being nominated is a pretty high honor. Oh - and high praise for the judges! It's a lot of work!!!
