    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Already with stprmloght, people are running campaigns outside the suggested canon eras and areas.

What are you reading in 2025?

Interesting, I also have no interest in brevity.

Dhampir and Other Species To Be Included in Astarion's Book of Hungers

Well, that's true: however, a Ravenloft booster to bring it up to 2024 standards is still plausible

Dhampir and Other Species To Be Included in Astarion's Book of Hungers

Likely something like Forge of the Artificer: player options, but Campaign frameworks and tools for a DM, Basitions, low prep Adventures, etc.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Yeah, the Final empire is a setting is really highly wound up with the epic plot, much moreso than Stormlight is even with the global war. Era 2 might be pitch perfect for running a sandbox campaign.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Oh, I can see Mistings doing very well im this system, focused as it is on Skills: they will be able to max out their Allomancy while still developing other normal Skills...skills that will come up in heists. Era 2 is more rupees for gaming than Era 1 overall probably, though the Adventure Path...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Compounding is definitely in, though only available to Twinborn characters in Era 2. Each Allomantic ability snd each Feruchemical ability is a seperate Skill, that's how Mistborn are balanced: they won't be able to invest Skill points in every power, though they cam make the rolls when they...

What are you reading in 2025?

Journey before destination, I don't read to get to a singular "point". Nope, because length is a plus. I would be more interested in a 3000 page fanfiction than a 3 page one, yes, suggests that you had aomething to say. But vampire romance isn’t my jam. No more paradoxical than preferring to...

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

Oh, I agree 100%: I am inclined to ignore the existence of any novels or games, and any metaplot. Nor will my friends and family care if I smash 1350s Grey Box details with 1501 and 1489 material.

Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun - First Impressions

Yeah, it offers a different tool than the meaty developed Campaign books full of detail. And I have zero doubt WotC will continue to publish the latter in other books.

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

I do think that modern gamers have maybe lost sight of the asymmetry that early hardcore wargamers unserstood.

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

I agree 100%, and I don't think it was ever a good or sustainable idea to pursue. But I do understand that the people who enjoyed that doomed publishing endeavor are sad that it isn't happening any more.

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

Why not both...? Just color me skeptical about Feats being judged imbalanced after a week of release.

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

Subclasses are the main elements they seem to feel the need to run past the broad public for a vibe check: Subclass choice is a pretty significant wlement of play that can stick with a player for years, so it makes sense.

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

Well, while I agree with you and not the OP, for the sake of argument I will say I do see and understand where @Henadic Theologian is coming from: for those folks who enjoyed the 2E/3E era of breakneck novels and game products carefully curating a shared metaplot, these books are not a return to...

What are you reading in 2025?

I was halfway through reading the summary before I realized what deranged nonsense it was, so for q hot second I thought the author was a 20th century Hellebic neo-pagan, but I got suspicious about the pronouns flipping back and forth between him and her, and then the Roman politics references...

Dhampir and Other Species To Be Included in Astarion's Book of Hungers

I mean, that is the truthful reaction to all suffering, to be fair.
