D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

I am sorry, 32 pages for $15 may be cheap in print, it is nowhere near that in digital. If the ratio of pages per dollar were the same for the FR books, they would be around 70-80 pages, I am sure they are considerably longer, probably by a factor of 3, which means the supplement should be $5...

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

um, aren't these digital only? $15 for the equivalent of 32 pages is not what I consider inexpensive, just compare that to the FR books, which then should be around 64 pages and 80 pages respectively

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

so the digital bundle was like $120, the two FR books are $30 and $40, which leaves $15 or so for each of the supplements (assuming none of this is discounted, which feels like a safe assumption...). Not sure how a 32 page supplement can justify that price, do we have page counts for the other...

it's predominantly different content, not sure how you compare which one is less or more when the content is that different. Sure, the PHB has more pages, but fewer tokens, dice, etc. The idea is that the starter set is a good introduction / easier onramp to the game. If that is not the case...

D&D General Who is this made for (Not Beginners) - the New D&D Starter Set

If it is in the box and most others do not have that problem, probably that person's, it's not like there really is another option at that point. I do not have the box, so cannot really say if the text got anything wrong or is badly organized, but from some posts here it sounds like you flat...

D&D General Who is this made for (Not Beginners) - the New D&D Starter Set

ok, so you cannot hurt the feelings of a box, fine. I don't think that means we should be blaming everything on boxes going forward, just to avoid hurting people's feeling when we tell them that they made a mistake / missed something. Not sure how that would be a benefit to anyone

D&D General Who is this made for (Not Beginners) - the New D&D Starter Set

I mean, all of you apparently missed stuff that is actually in the box... I am not sure people were looking into why that happened, but it is pretty odd if they were to blame the box for it

if they like it, it is easy to learn about them. Heck, it might be unavoidable to hear about all those other things you mentioned (DDB, BG3, ...) even if they do not like it

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

what do you mean, the thread started because they announced doing so, do you need an actual first session for confirmation?

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

I know, but unless you have some data to contradict any of this, I am very comfortable with these two assertions. Also, there still is the fact that WotC said it is the fastest selling. While that is not hard data, that would be hard to explain if the two were not true

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

assertions that 1) about the same number of new players get added now as a year before and 2) that a significant percentage of the people owning the 2014 books are buying the 2024 ones? I consider them self-evident. I see no reason to assume that there are a lot less new players. For 2) we had...

D&D 5E (2024) Using Action Surge to cast spells in 2024

I was not asking what capital-A Action was taken, I was asking what action is taken as the reaction

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

it easily exceeded the 2014 launch, heck the 2014 books exceeded that every year since then. WotC told us it was the fastest selling book (2024 PHB), and the 2014 PHB wasn’t even the second fastest by then. That is not a statement they make without some data to back it up, and it certainly...

wasn’t directed at you, but since you replied… ;) What action is being taken as the reaction in this paragraph (bolded ‘action’ by me for clarity) “First, you decide what perceivable circumstance will trigger your Reaction. Then, you choose the action you will take in response to that trigger...
