I don’t think Kirk was feeling remorse, exactly. Or not just remorse. More like identification. They started out as explorers, the best and the brightest. Kirk was contemplating how many hard command decisions like the one he just made turned them into the scavengers.

I might attach various rationalizations as the mood, or the whiskey, strikes me but the demographics of my settings all happen for the same reason. Call it authorial fiat, or aesthetic preference, or whim. Just don't call it logical.
So damn entertaining. The second episode made me doubly mad that Stranger New Worlds is ending after five seasons and Our Flag Means Death ended after two.
I’m revisiting Breath of the Wild (which I never got very far in) now that I have a Switch 2. Also the obligatory new Mario Kart and the great GameCube version of Soulcalibur 2.
