I also don't think that cyberpunk means tech makes everything worse, I think it's more that tech dominates everything and the ones in charge (typically corporations rather than governments) are the ones making everything worse, they just happen to control the tech.

From memory, 1e had feats that reduced arcane spell failure which allowed you to wear light armour without arcane spell failure. Combo it with mithril and I think you could wear a chain shirt with no issues.

I did make a setting which has drqgons, giants, and elementals as a big part of the setting. Everything else was Schroedinger's monster, you never know if they exist until you start setting up an encounter.

They really do seem to be colour-coded for our convenience. I've no idea why they ended up with the colours they have, but it is something I'm moving away from. Now I have dragons based on element and each element tends to have a range of colours that is typical.

That's not quite right, humans did have more hp in 2e, but most had 1-6 instead of a full d8 hit die. They had something like a dozen humans to cover a few cases so some had more than a d6 hit die. So they were still weaker than an orc, but on par with a goblin.
