    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Counterpoint is people dont do that. Well not everyone. So you can live through historical events and be oblivious if its not in your back yard. IRL if elves existed and old one could remember Byzantium. An old 1E one could potentially remember Rome. Or they didn’t live nearby and be oblivious.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Yup. Xenophon camped in the ruins of Ninevah iirc. They didnt know who built it. Neither did the locals who lived there. City was destroyed 200 years before that. Bronze age collapse. History quickly became legend.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Alot of people aren't that interested in real world events or history. So if they dont watch the news, read much and neither do their friends.....

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

So very few elves that could potentially remember Netheril. And they would probably have to live in the vicinity as well.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Surviving wizards or others generally are in hiding. From the shades or other Netherese survivors. A few are no longer human if they're not undead.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

They might remember Netheril but it wasnt at its prime when it fell. Wasn't it only one subrace of elves that lived 2000 years?

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

That we know off. Can always add another surviving city. My idea is another one survived. It was small exploration one and it could "land" to collect samples. Its in Osse. There were 54 total but theres not 54 named and maybe a dozen crash sites known off.

D&D General Mike Mearls says control spells are ruining 5th Edition

If youre smart you only need to prepare two. Intelligence and wisdom. Intelligence is best one to target the spells are rare. Wisdom has the most spells and powerful effects and monster wisdom saves are generally bad.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Yeah even list empires of faerun points out Netheril is fairly well documented. Surviving liches also contribute to Candlekeep. Its more like Rome but probably better documented. Its not Punt, Akkad, Sea People or Atlantis.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Its more than 3 elven generations. Its 3 very long lived elves. 250 years is 10+ generations for humans. 3 long lived ones.
