Which items count towards number of permanent magic items

Sorry, I meant regarding things like Shield Guardians that are "breakable". Yes you can lose it so it's like a consumable, but should rather be treated like a permenant item.

Good spot, and that's what I'd go with as well. *clap clap*

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

    1. Please, I'm begging you, read the actual posts you're responding to. It would save us both the time and effort. Resistance = don't care about getting hit from non-BPS damage sources = more Reckless Attack. Reckless Attack + GWM = biggest damage boost in the game. Your Frenzy Barb is...

Which items count towards number of permanent magic items

What about a Magic Item like a Shield Guardian? Not technically consumable, but still destroyable? Personally I say it should count towards the permanent number (I say this as a player with one).

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

    1. Does more damage, lasts longer, provides more party utility, literally every category of judging a character's mechanics. This isn't difficult, you're just avoiding the fact that you have zero argument and zero build. 2. We haven't. 3. Nope, it's not always on, but that's a zero-sum...

Death in Ravenloft after receiving all 4 Dark Gifts?

Honestly I love that DMs are feeling more comfortable about actually letting players die. It helps players realize that they have to actually be worried about their character that they've put a lot of effort into. It also helps differentiate between T1 and T2 play when players realize they...

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

You haven't posted a Frenzy Barbarian build yet that you claim is equal/better than Bear Totem. True story. Also, if you're playing ToD + RoT and not seeing heaps of elemental/poison damage, please tell me who your LA DM is because they are laughably bad. ToD and EE campaigns alone make...

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

Again, please read my post. ~4.3 average across the d20 spectrum. When adjusted that 1s are auto-fails and 20s are auto-succeeds, the value of Advantage/Disadvantage is ~+-5 when doing to-hit rolls (no auto fail/succeed at saves/ability checks). Again, you're arguing with math here, not me...

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

Because you clearly struggle with reading comprehension: Since you also fail as basic math, the average benefit of Advantage/Disadvantage across the D20 spectrum is ~4.3. It changes with what number you need to roll to succeed, but a 10/11 is taken as the average. Simplified (and per PHB...

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

You've posted nothing. You can literally optimize your Frenzy barb however you want with whatever feats you want (Point Buy 27/Official feats obviously) and it will still lose to the Totem barb outside of anything except an encounter with no non-BPS damage and nowhere that goes more than 1...

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

Well by that logic... The Bear Totem Barbarian only needs to survive 1 round of combat longer than the Frenzy Barb to have his lifetime DPR to be higher. Because he's still alive. And let's face it, especially as you level and face higher CR mobs, that's going to be a significantly more...

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

But not with literally just 1 level of exhaustion. Regarding ChrisCarlson's post: Wow, congrats, you saw a 1 in 400 chance occurrence. If you're saying that disadvantage has such a small impact, then knock your socks off. For the rest of us that passed basic mathematics, we'll prefer to...

D&D 5E (2014) OotA: Thorn Whip and Glabbagool

I mean they could literally accomplish the same thing with standard a Grapple, and anything that encourages Druids to do something at lower levels besides dominate in Bear form is a positive, so I say kudos to them for creativity.

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker - How does it really compare to Totem Warrior?

Obviously haven't played a certain AL module that (after failing a Constitution save) imparted 1d4 levels of exhaustion. What happens immediately after that? Do a Dex save or get potentially swept/throw off a cliff. And then a fight against Gaze Yetis (disadvantaged saves + Restrained). To...

    Disarm

It's really not that different. The Fighting Styles start out at 4 per short rest, going up at several different levels. True that Heat Metal starts out at 2x per day....but you can always upcast it. If that's his character's concept, that's definitely what he would do. Because he's Cha...

    D&D 5E (2014) 0 Hit Points and Polymorph

Just beware: If the character who was at 0hp takes enough damage to knock it out of Polymorph +1, it will have 1 automatic death save because it would take damage while unconscious. And the enemies might want to ensure the character is finished off and thus follow up with a 2nd attack, which...

    Disarm

That's not entirely true Kalani. Ironically, another way to have an AL-enforceable Disarming character is basically what the OP is doing. Well, technically Druids can as well. Basically any class with access to Heat Metal can be an AL-enforceable Disarming character. So long as the enemy...

What treasure do you wish was in upcoming adventures?

Just FYI, GFB/BB don't make your entire attack magical. Only the extra rider damage (Fire/Thunder) is magical for the purposes of bypassing non-magical BPS resistance.
