    Necromancy and AL

My god you're a bad DM. I don't mean in the sense that you don't know the adventure or keep track of mechanical aspects, it's just blatantly clear that you view the players as the enemy and them beating "your" monsters or override your "authority." I feel really, really bad for your players.

    D&D 5E (2014) Fighter/cleric multi-classing-where to go?

Past Fighter 11 you don't pick up much offense. Level dips into Cleric are a great way to shore up some of the fighter weak points (no Bless for GWM/SS, Healing Word for helping the party, Guidance for mini-Alert feat), as is a few levels of barbarian.

    D&D 5E (2014) Monk/Rogue/Warlock Build questions

This isn't a particularly different Monk build and is actually quite common. The biggest problem with this build is when you take your break points for your level dips, and more importantly, it is extremely bonus action heavy. Bonus action to disengage, shadow step, cast/move Hex, and bonus...

    Necromancy and AL

Thanks for everyone pointing out that Undead can, in fact, heal. Which removes one of the concerns, which I though was an extremely minor one at that for the undead that have at best a few hit die. No, I am not willing to accept the difference between expending money on a piece of equipment...

    Necromancy and AL

What??? Do you even know how the Clone spell works??? The Clone sits there. Congrats, you've monitored it until the Wizard dies. Also, that's awesome. That also means I don't need to honor any equipment, at all, that my AL players bring to the table right? They start buck naked? Because...

    Necromancy and AL

Ah yes, the good ol' screw the players attitude that I love so much in AL forums. *clap clap* It would just be soooo much effort I know, ugh so hard. Good thing we don't already have a system for tracking items purchased with a lot of gold (plate barded up elephant), renown, downtime, etc...

    Necromancy and AL

What sort of methods have you all seen to deal with commanding large number of NPCs/Units at a time? Personally I figure just using 3d20s divided into the number you have (rounding to one die) and go with that. Then roll damage for all of them at once. Makes things like Advantage/Disadvantage...

    Necromancy and AL

The only reason Necromancy is bad in AL is because of the Action Economy and trying to automatic having 10+ minions. But it's no different than the Animate Objects spell. So no, Necromancy is perfectly compatible with AL. As for the argument that Necormancers are inherently evil...no...

    Help with a Cleric

You stick Cleric and wait until level 5 like you should. Then you get Spirit Guardians and wonder why you ever complained about this stuff.

OotA Magic Items AL Legality *spoilers*

And yet, somehow, magically all tables will RNGesus their way into the gear. Funny how often that works out. I don't disagree with your table, I disagree with the premise that because an item(s) is written as being hard to get, that it will actually end up being rare. Want to know how many...

    AL; Normal experience?

Can't sell without someone to sell the equipment to. Normally this isn't an issue because you start out in a city or something. But your character is currently stuck in a tunnel somewhere in the Underdark. Who knows, maybe you'll run across a traveling caravan.... Basically you just have to...

OotA Magic Items AL Legality *spoilers*

And there you have it folks, exactly as I predicted. Cup cake DMs ignore the encounter descriptions and hand players items. Same with Black Dragon Mask, Elemental weapons from PotA, etc.

Build-wise, what's far too common in the AL?

Human Variant everything. Honestly, despite like 90% of my characters being V Human, I really wish AL would do away with them. Removing that feat at level 1 would make a HUGE difference in character diversity. 1. Warlock/Sorc 2. Paladin/Sorc(or Warlock) 3. Fighter/Barb 4. V Human PAM...

How did you get by the 200+ guards, WoF, etc?

    D&D 5E (2014) Mystic Step as a Magical Secret

It's not so much a vulnerability, it's that there are better options for the Magical Secret's spells. Misty step is a great spell, no doubt, just that there are generally better (from a min/max perspective) options. The biggest vulnerability, in terms of negatives, is that it uses your bonus...

    Dwarvin Polearm build--HELP PLEASE

Oh god, thank you for the humor. Needed that. 1. Lol no. A 40 would barely even get you into a T20 school back in the day, definitely not today: http://scholarship.law.duke.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2979&context=dlj A 40 is equivalent to the scores I quoted you (based on getting a 42...

    Archer Optimization Math...

A few things (we have the same build) 1. Remember to pre-Bless as often as you can, saving you that round in combat. What sort of Cleric are you btw? I'm assuming War for the +wis mod in Bonus attack for your Longbow. 2. If you want to pump this build's damage to the max, use Divine Favor...

[SPOILERS] Some thoughts on the Author Only mods from Winter Fantasy

Without a doubt, the DDAOs were the best part of WF. If WotC is looking for how to draw people to conventions, DDAOs are it.

D&D 5E (2014) Favorite "Against the Grain" builds that are still effective

^^ this. You posted two extremely popular builds. My Cleric/Sorc was unconventional about 6 months ago, now he's super popular.
