I added an Engineering skill for a slightly more steampunk game to cover exactly those sort of areas. It's important to make sure it can stand on its own and it doesn't devalue any other skills.

If you can get a hold of copies of Volo's Guides to the Sword Coast and Volo's Guide to the North, do so. They are full of scads of roleplaying hooks. They're technically 2e, but they're nearly edition-neutral. They detail the sort of small-time players and places that can be put in any time...

Thanks guys. I intend to put some more work in this weekend, doctorbadwolf: I'll have to think about how that would work. Maybe a stratagem that lets you convert an inspiring word use into a nice defensive buff of some kind? Maybe just an option to sub it out for such a benefit.

Is there a physical difference in the packaging of the new and old versions of the spell card decks? If I see some at my LGS I'd like to make sure I'm getting the new versions.

First of all, I don't think there's too many people dissatisfied with the hunter, other than the problem of Hunter's Mark's fragility. For the beastmaster, the sheer clunkiness of making the beast take your action is a dealbreaker for me (same reason I wasn't too fond of the 4e version). So...

Since it's unlikely there will be an official warlord class anytime soon (because reasons), I've been working on my own. It's an attempt to retain the flavor of the 4e class while being conscious of 5e balance, including limited in-combat healing and the expectation that the class be usable...

That class section is such a tease. Wish it listed the subclasses.

How much info is there on Gauntlgrym? My current (4e) campaign has, as one of its main goals, rediscovering and clearing it.

Maybe I should try out microtransactions in my game. $1 per 100g, $10 for basic magic items, $25 for a level-up, $50 for an extra life, the list goes on and on. I'm sure that would go over well.

Disappointing that this made it through QC as-is.

I've been using prop Campaign Coins for inspiration and luck (custom stat). I also allow inspiration to be spent to "do something cool" which can take a lot of different forms and it's always adjudicated on-the-fly.

Assuming the caster can catch all the opponents in a 20' cube and they all fail their dexterity saves, at least.

For those curious, I've attached an Inkscape sheet I've been working on which has a houserule Luck score. It's fairly utilitarian, but I've never been a fan of ornate sheets. (The Inkscape .SVG vector file is zipped since ENWorld doesn't accept them as attachments.)

Seconding Inkscape. It's free, but there's a bit of a learning curve if you're not familiar with it.

Put me down as someone who liked the pseudoscience of D&D psionics. To me, this feels like an attempt just to make it another flavor of magic (even though I know that's not really the intent).
