The list of spells that can be cast while Wildshaped reminds me a lot of the Moonkin form from WoW. It’s a very popular Druid build in that game, so that may be where WotC got their inspiration.

I’m willing to bet that the Monk Weapons list isn’t supposed to say “melee” at all, and its inclusion is just a typo. It is probably meant to match their Weapon Proficiencies, but they couldn’t just say “which are the weapons with which you are proficient” because of multiclassing issues.
