I'm not a fan of subtitles so I always try to find reasonable dubs, rather than subtitled films. I did find that the rarely available yellow subtitles made things easier for me. I wonder if that might help your wife, if it was possible to change the colour?

You can, in fact, make something like that appear on errors, plus a whole lot more. Years back there was someone creeping on the website of a female friend that I was hosting the site for. I found the creeper's IP address and set it up so that a picture of a mouse doing the "Mission Impossible"...

That would be my top. The way that they repeated the same series of sight gags in all three movies, with little tweaks, is just <chef's kiss>.

Lack of clarity or mixing and matching methods of debate can certainly be an issue. It doesn't explain why some leap to the claim that someone is stating fact, when the default would seem to be opinion.

Could be that's more you reading into their comments, than it is what they are saying. You would be far from the first ;)

I do from time to time, also, but usually I just feel that I shouldn't have to state the obvious.

I just love when I post what is obviously an opinion, not meant to be taken as fact, and someone just has to call me out with, "Well that's not a fact. It's just your opinion." Yes, indeed. It's my opinion. Why would I be posting the opinion of someone else?
