Yeah, as someone with an auditory processing disorder, I do really hate that about Nolan's later movies. Tenet and Dark Knight Rises were especially egregious. I haven't seen Oppenheimer yet... I can't imagine it would be that bad but who knows, Nolan loves making actors barely manage to shout...

Yes. To be a little less glib, I think it's a problem that cuts both ways; players can take these skills and take actions that call for these checks, but also DMs could stop ignoring certain skills, to say nothing of DMs that are punishing players for using the skills the game lets them take...

I've been in three championship matches, and the only one I lost was the only that was explicitly a D&D adventure. A lot the adventures I've written that I look back on the most fondly were all system-agnostic (and one set in the Supernatural RPG, of all things)
