D&D 5E (2014) Planescape WotC first look video.

I imagine that’s the Us. Edit: Or it could be Many-As-One. Forgot about them for a minute.

D&D General Making and surviving the break…

I mean, both Perkins and Crawford have referred to this as an “evergreen edition”. It wouldn’t surprise me if that was a design goal from on high - the rules of games Hasbro owns don’t typically change.

D&D General Beadle & Grimm's Matthew Lillard Launches D&D-themed Bourbon

But it’s triple filtered through Herkimer diamonds! Speaking as someone who bought a bottle when Ackroyd first released the stuff, I can confirm - it does come in a cool bottle.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D's Classic Settings Are Not 'One Shots'

Given that the production timeline for a official D&D book is well over a year, I suspect it’s entirely possible that by the time they realized that Spelljammer was poorly received, Planescape was too far along to make major changes to - I recall a YouTube video where Perkins was tripping over...

Planescape The New Planescape Adventure Sounds Awfully Familiar

I suppose they’ll have to - you can’t build up to [the reveal that involves a tattoo] if you have more than one party member.

Planescape The New Planescape Adventure Sounds Awfully Familiar

I mean, on one hand PS:T is an incredible game - a personal all time favorite, and a great source of locations and NPCs. On the other hand, I’ve already played it through. Several times.

Planescape The New Planescape Adventure Sounds Awfully Familiar

To quote a recent blogpost from RPGBot: I have to admit, I never guessed they would just take the plot of "Planescape: Torment" and write it up as a 5e adventure.

Planescape Planescape Pre-order Page Shows Off The Books!

Well that's a derp on my part. Hooray for reading comprehension, I suppose. Yeah, it really drives home that the RPG space is more or less two industries - 'D&D' and 'Everything Else'. Any other publisher would love to have the numbers of the least-successful D&D product. Did Spelljammer...

Planescape Planescape Pre-order Page Shows Off The Books!

The 'Roll for Combat' guys took a look at a percentage of the sales numbers for a number of D&D products the other day, and noted a pretty precipitous dropoff in sales of the Spelljammer set - selling about 47k copies in the first four weeks, about 56k in the first eight, and about 84k in the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Requesting help building a barbarian

I’m currently playing a shifter path of the beast barbarian. He… hits pretty dang hard, even if it is a very bonus-action-heavy character.

D&D 5E (2014) Planescape, Bigby, Phandelver and the Deck of Many Things: Covers & Details Revealed!

Is there actual evidence of that? I’d say people around here generally talk about Strixhaven and Spelljammer as being disappointing, but I don’t believe I’ve seen any sales figures. If the lead time for a first party D&D book is a year plus, it could be some real time for them to react to market...

D&D 5E (2014) Planescape, Bigby, Phandelver and the Deck of Many Things: Covers & Details Revealed!

I kind of hope it’s Greyhawk, but I’d guess Mystara would have a fighting chance.

D&D 5E (2014) Planescape, Bigby, Phandelver and the Deck of Many Things: Covers & Details Revealed!

Eh, I mean - I understand the impulse. 5e has had a habit of touching on worlds and concepts, and then (with one or two specific counterexamples) never touching them again. I don't think anyone is holding their breath for another Eberron or Dragonlance book.

D&D 5E (2014) Planescape, Bigby, Phandelver and the Deck of Many Things: Covers & Details Revealed!

Double checking the 5e DMG (p.68), there's no mention of neither the factions nor the three letter agencies from the 3.5e DMG - I'm personally hoping you're correct. The depiction of Factol Guildmaster Rhys from Tashas also points in that direction.

D&D 5E (2014) Planescape, Bigby, Phandelver and the Deck of Many Things: Covers & Details Revealed!

I dunno - I don't know how hot a take this is, but for me? If it doesn't have the factions, it's not really Planescape. 'Manual of the Planes' has always been a generic D&D book, rather than the specific campaign setting that Planescape was.

As a DM, I very much care if the monsters are cool enough to spend money on. ;)
