Hasbro Opens New Wizards of the Coast Video Game Studio in Montreal to Support D&D Franchise

I think that from "our end", WotC could easily slot in a fifth (or some years sixth) spot for experimental product, but I would say that from "their end", well, I think they'd say that they already do it (one could argue HotB and the Stranger Things box are experimental, and really so is the...

Hasbro Opens New Wizards of the Coast Video Game Studio in Montreal to Support D&D Franchise

I can't point you to peer-reviewed papers or or anything, but I can tell you that having sold D&D for four full editions, WotC's 5e limited number of books-per-year is a godsend. Four to Six is the sweet spot. You're right that if we get only four, they had better all be bangers, and if they...

(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

Team Lake Muragh, the Lizard-Chief chuckled, a low, grinding-wheezing rumble. He said, "Why wuhld I leevh whon I 'ave ebvree fhing I evha whanted?" He said it defiantly, but Aiwyn had the impression that it was a true question - what was in it for him? It had better be good.

AD&D 1E Snarf's Challenge: Was it Possible to Play 1e RAW? SHARE YOUR STORIES!

Holds up a hand. I have a question, Mr. Zagyg! It is: How the heck can anyone remember? I played 1e in the early 80's - haven't played it since. And I wasn't the DM! I HAVE NO IDEA what rules we used or didn't use! Though, I can tell you that I bought 2e the day that it dropped, and played it...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

ALL of it? From what I've seen, they've recently upped the variety of styles they present. Hopefully there will be some stuff you like within the contents of the books, even if you're not a fan of the previewed stuff. I guess we'll have to see.

The 2025 Pumpkin Spice RPG Contest Submissions

This is not a real entry, because I would never use AI art for a real entry, but I never found the time to make the Statblock (or do some real art), but for your amusement: The Pumpkin Spice Beholder

    D&D General DALL·E 3 does amazing D&D art

I think it would be lame to enter an AI image in the Pumpkin Spice contest, but I was thinking of working on this Monster, but never go around to making its statblock:

Dungeons & Dragons Provides Guidance on How to Run Heroes of the Borderlands As More Traditional Campaign

If so, why wouldn't you just make up that sentence or two? Are you trying to test it "as written" or something? I would expect their approach to be to poke around each cave entrance, where the DM can give hints about what might be in there. I don't think that they are expected to randomly pick...

Paul Thomas Anderson Movies: Ranked! (And discussion)

I also enjoyed the film (and thought he was good in it) in spite of being nearly unable to stomach Sandler. He's just so regularly insufferable.

    D&D General DALL·E 3 does amazing D&D art

When we started this thread, so many pages (and a few years) ago, the AI had no idea what a Griffon was. But it does them fairly well, now. Here's a pretty one:
