D&D 5E (2024) How Important Is The Lore

I prefer classic D&D lore over the changes we have now but ultimately, I'll adjust to fit my setting anyway.

    D&D 5E (2024) Amnesia Sequence Yea/Nay?

There is an episode of Star Trek TNG where this plot issue basically comes up. It's a mystery so they crew try to go back and investigate/solve what happened. I can say from experience that the same thing would happen with players. No player is going to leave that mystery unsolved and they'll go...

    LARP In the UK

An old friend of mine used to play Lorien Trust. I don't know if they are still going but might be worth a look as they did frequent events and seemed like a good community.

Arcane Season 2 Starts on Saturday, 9 Nov 24 on Netflix

Just finished watching season 2 last night. I have to be honest and say that season 1 was better. It felt cohesive and with a set story. Season 2 just went weird and trippy with seemingly no real connection to the season 1. The character connections were really good right up to the end and I...

What is it about TTRPGs for YOU?

Storytelling with friends in a fantasy world of our imagination. Specifically, my friends and I are the sort of players who enjoy seeing what campaign story our DM has created/prepared and brought to the table, so we can see play that tale and see where it takes us. Our games aren't railroads...

    Aging and Gaming

I just turned 51 a couple back and I can certainly say that the older I get the more difficult I find things. For the past 15 years give or take, we jumped from D&D from D&D 3.5 to Pathfinder and it's not been a problem until the last couple years where I find I now struggle with the complexity...

D&D General Dinosaurs in your campaigns

My current campaign setting has a Lost World continent in the equatorial regions. Even so, I've always had such in previous campaign settings. Dinosaurs are cool and deserve to be in the D&D style fantasy.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your Experience Like with '24?

Only one session so far. I'm running Ghosts of Saltmarsh under 2024 edition. So far everyone enjoyed it. Nice simple system with just enough complexity to keep everyone happy. We're more used to Pathfinder 1st these days so getting our heads around somethings, like skills, has caused some pause...

Unique British aspects of D&D in the UK?

I agree. I'm only saying my experiences which compared to many will be more limited.

Unique British aspects of D&D in the UK?

I'm in Cambridgeshire and here it's a solo game called Pub Cricket. Pass a pub with an animal in it's name and you score a number of runs (points) on the number of limbs that animal has. Pass a pub with a royal name and you are out and have to start over. Back on topic though.. things I have...

D&D 5E (2024) Did you make up your mind about 5.24?

Yes, and I like it. Perfect set of rules for us jumping back into D&D.

Playing in Person Is Just Better (for me)

I played in an online D&D5 campaign during the pandemic and while it scratched that itch for gaming, it wasn't what I enjoyed. I prefer face to face, reading body language and the social aspects too much I think.

GMs - Do you get bored when you're a player?

That's because my RPGs are combat heavy. Even in an RP based game like the Call of Cthulhu game I am playing in, I struggle with drawn out conversations that my character is involved in.
