Tell me about your experiences running games at a FLGS

I find the FLGS too distracting for consistent campaign play. I would engage stuff like Pathfinder society and/or Adventure League. That way the commitment is low and you can have a steady group of folks joining, hanging out, and checking out if they like. So, yeah typically an adventure that...

    Long-term survival rules?

I like Forbidden Lands use of supply die. It felt both like supplies were limited but also dispensed with the painstaking process of tracking every morsel and gram of supplies. I think the concept could be scaled up to a community level. Im also starting to think of the board game Dead of Winter...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

D&D General Combat Against Player Engagement: A Systemic Challenge

A pretty good essay, this was the part where I think the discussion lies for us. This is how its done. There is still a pitfall that, unfortunately, can not be overcome easily. Some folks suffer analysis paralysis. So, if the orc scores a critical and the rogue gets to act, is it better to react...

D&D General Refresher Course D&D Edition Numbers. AKA Modern D&D Is a Self Inflicted Problem.

So, we start talking about +x to hit, but then quickly forget it, so that we can make some point about HP numbers and rest recovery not being the same in all editions? This couldn't be posted in Mike's 7LBWD thread because...?

Streaming Movies and Power Rankings: A Reverie on Max's A24 and Netflix's Rebel Ridge

I was thinking the same thing. I like MM a bit better when he is a co-lead or not the leading man himself. While he was fine for this film, I think hes aging but healthy lifestyle is begging him to keep doing these kinds of roles. Uncharted, for example, he rewrote the Sully part to make him...

Streaming Movies and Power Rankings: A Reverie on Max's A24 and Netflix's Rebel Ridge

So, Prime been trying to bust out straight to stream movies and they remind me of the straight to VHS B action flicks back in the 80's-90's. Stuff you watch once and quickly forget. This weekend I saw Dirty Work with Marky Mark. It appears this is another adaption of the Parker/Porter character...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

Magic isn’t comparable it’s a license to print money. That game single-handedly keeps flgs in business across America. Though, no I’m not waiting around for D&D to get better that’s not it’s focus and it doesn’t need to be. Time to try some more RPGs it’s never been better than now to explore.
