    Spoilers Rebel Moon-my spoiler review

Excellent question! I found the character development scenes between the time twins trite. After the first couple of scenes I fast-forwarded until there was interaction with any other character or some action. Based on earlier in the movie, I predicted that certain scenes weren't going to be...

    Spoilers Rebel Moon-my spoiler review

So, today, I watch The Flash. Had to fast forward through some parts, not good. And then we get to the scene where the giant Kryptonian is smacking soldiers four at a time with the find side of a missile. Just like Sauron. And, then, all the other movies that I happened to see that Rebel Moon...

DnD while married/relationship - any advice

If your spouse doesn't game, Have them understand the time commitment. Give them space so they can engage in their own hobby with the same time commitment. Clean up after yourselves so you don't impose. Pay attention to them so they don't feel neglected. (Had to tell a couple friends this...

    Spoilers Rebel Moon-my spoiler review

As time goes on I am noticing the trend of movies becoming collections of interesting, even compelling, scenes. These scenes are strung together in a narrative which would capture interest if the scenes were coherently tied together. But, they're not. The robot guard is very interesting. Their...

    What Should the Bard Be?

For me, bards are the masters of communication. They can bring communities together or tear them apart. They can make deals that must be honored. As a very important byproduct of that, the have phenomenal memories and retain with great fidelity information stored as poems, songs, even paintings...

    D&D General One Less Warlock

I am so sorry for your loss. I have almost lost two of my children, one from disease, the other depression. Terrible texts sent and received, chilling words from physicians. I don't know the loss, but I have known the fear of it. I am so sorry.

D&D 5E (2014) Why is animate dead considered inherently evil?

Much like Slytherin house isn't evil, but all the dark wizards have come from Slytherin house. As far as myth and legend concerning the innate evil of animating dead, you have the zombi myth of Haiti. The malevolent bokor, magicians, create them to use as their personal slaves. There is also a...

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

He mailed feces to Tenkar?! Being mentioned in a legal communication, and footnoted, I guess it's true, but I'm still incredulous. I can't believe someone would do something so petty and stupid when you have legal action against ... the recipient of the package. He's running out of feet to...

D&D 5E (2014) Why is animate dead considered inherently evil?

That's a modern mindset. Which is fine, we're modern people. And you can change the rules however you please, that's the great thing about this game.

That's what wall of fire is for.

    D&D 5E (2014) All Spells *At Will*??? (+)

As far as healing goes, you could take the concept of system strain from Worlds Without Number. A body can only handle so much rapid healing or change before the magic or process ceases to work.

D&D General Tech in DnD; What should be included and how much is too much? (+)

My tech is roughly early 17th Century with some additions and subtractions. There are firearms, "runelocks", that use bluepowder rather than blackpowder. The main difference being that it doesn't support its own combustion, so grenades are the biggest bang you can get. No cannons or bombs...

D&D 5E (2014) Questions to ask when developing a campaign setting as a group

Questions that come to mind- "What do you want to do?" How common is magic? Items, casters, and high level casters? Are there enough 12th level casters to cause societal change, and are they interested in doing so? How common are high level characters? What level would the local Cincinnatus...

    D&D 5E (2014) All Spells *At Will*??? (+)

This is the original concept for the warlock, IIRC. The main limitation is that you can only have one spell active at a time. The rest of the design flows from that. So, half-baked at the moment but similar tubers that others had.

    D&D 5E (2014) A Power Dial Separate From Level

For 5e: Ability Scores, number of bonus feats, potency and quantity of magic items, access to Inspiration, use of feats for "multiclassing" just for other class abilities. Stats aren't that important in older editions, but near critical in 5e.

    D&D 5E (2014) A Power Dial Separate From Level

Never heard of that before. Some assumptions I quibble with, but an interesting reference.
