I got a doozy for y'all. Its Battletech but I dont care because the story is stone cold hilarious.
The set up;
Battletech is crunchy and then some. Memes galore demonstrate how many charts exist to adjudicate just about any situation. Most of the time a game runs pretty smoothly. Though, once...
I’m with the folks that think it was good, dipped, and mostly recovered. I don’t think it bothered me so much as it is way down the list of shows that start great and go to crap.
Thats not really any different with XP. They just beeline to activities that reward it. Often, at expense of what ought to be interesting to their character.
When an XP opportunity exists is always GM whim too. Unless you declare "this woods has 117 XP within it" every time they travel.

Alternatively, the GM can dial up the challenge to require more teamwork (PF2 the opposite to require less) for...
Yeaaaah… I remember eye rolling about needing an Earth connection and this oh so convenient tech. I figured eh as long as they don’t…oh god they did.
Show could have been totally independent without Richard Dean cameos once a season.
Oh that’s not even what I’m talking about. They made the right call (though from what I hear Anvar worked overtime selling the show to Amazon).
I mean cutting them from 10 to 8 to 6 episodes and finally canceling them after t they started shooting. Also, they took liberties during the first...
Typically, just a level up. Though when I’m running Traveller I tend to allow a skill bump after an adventure wraps up. That’s like 1/4 of a level or less.
That said, I liked his in Dungeons and Dragons Online they had milestone bumps between levels to do what you suggest.
