    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on New Bladesinger?

I did say ‘a bit’ redundant. By which I mean completely redundant until level 5 and then it’s only doing 1d6 extra damage with all the penalties using a spell comes with. Bladesingers get Int bonus uses per day not proficiency now. So they are likely to be using 3-4 times a day. If you’re not...

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on New Bladesinger?

I mean the biggest change is the new blade singer gets Int to attack and damage straight away. So true strike is actually a bit redundant for the most part.

D&D 5E (2024) GMs: How long should it usually take to go from level 1 to 4?

I mean how long is a session? 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours? Big difference there.

D&D General Converting Bg3 to Tabletop

So interestingly I broached the subject with my group face to face after our game this weekend. At least one player bounced pretty heavily off the idea of having an ithilid tadpole in their head. Even just the potential threat of it taking over his character was enough to feel coercive and...

D&D 5E (2024) PAX WotC Dungeons and Dragons speculation thread.

Yeah, but there is a crown in the picture. Darksun doesn’t have kings or queens does it? 😉

    Foundry 2024 D&D Token Rings… Help!

So just out of interest, I found the answer with this video on Reddit. Very quick and easy.

D&D 5E (2024) Odyssey of the Dragonlords Remastered Edition Kickstarter is LIVE

I checked it out. They have added quite a bit and updated it to 2024 rules. If I was going to run this campaign again I would buy the upgrade.

D&D 5E (2024) Odyssey of the Dragonlords Remastered Edition Kickstarter is LIVE

Yeah our party loved it to. But it unfortunately gets a lot of grief here with posters poking holes.

D&D 5E (2024) Odyssey of the Dragonlords Remastered Edition Kickstarter is LIVE

Our group of jaded grognards played it level 1-15 to the very end. We had a lot of fun with it. We certainly didn’t feel like it wasn’t Greek enough. However it is very combat heavy but like any pre-printed campaign it is pitched at middle balance. If the PCs have system mastery then you will...

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Worth also remembering that the elves were in open conflict with Netherill. What elves know about Netherill could be extremely prejudiced.

Modules: Made to Read vs Made to Run?

Any examples of recent adventures that are easy to read but hard to run? I see people talking about the opposite but can you share some examples of modules that don’t fulfill that for you?

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

I imagine it to be a bit like the Time Lords of Gallifrey - hyper advanced society, caste based, with strange customs. Or like the Aes Sedai flashbacks from the time of legends. Or the Romulans I think you have to bring Netheril through cultural and behaviors oddities that develop from a...

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

PP gets a bad rap with some folks but for me it was pretty formative - not just for my love of Dark Sun but as D&D as a whole. It was one of the first D&D novels I read which really focused on a small group of adventurers and told from all their viewpoints. Ordinary folks rather than the great...

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

The feats are good, full of flavor and tactically relevant. There are a few changes to Dhamphir too necrotic resistance for instance.

Do they? Which lost civilizations are they?

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Well Hlondath and Anauria 750+ years. It’s not so different to Byzantium.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

There were Netherese successor states too as the ground holdings consolidated. It’s pretty much equivalent.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Yes. This makes it roughly equivalent to Ancient Rome. If it’s too far back, like 7,000 years then there wouldn’t be remnants left. It works fine.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

I know these are first impressions but it feels like a lot of conclusions and not a lot of description of the product itself. What kind of items, what kind of magical hazards, what makes it interesting. My preference would be to focus on the product contents rather than make value judgements...
