Shadowdark Setting Looks Set To Be 2025's First Million Dollar TTRPG Crowdfunder

I have a hard time imagining that a customs value of a A5 digest book can be any higher than 10$ per piece when it hits U.S. Shores. I think they're really only in deep trouble if we're getting to 300-400% territory

WotC Chris Cao has left WotC

I'm in the process of offloading my Revised Duals myself because the game is being printed into the ground and people thankfully started becoming very proxy friendly.

WotC Chris Cao has left WotC

To me it seems like a direct mechanic and aesthetic borrowed from the FANTASTIC Guild Wars 1 by ArenaNet, without understanding why the 8 skill limitation worked so well in a game about flexible builds, skill inter- and counterplay and instanced format.

D&D General So what about the SRDs?

I mean, Swords & Wizardry, Old School Essentials and OSRIC exist and none of the TSR games referenced are openly licensed or in the OGL

WotC Chris Cao has left WotC

People really underestimate how many people just straight up use it as a gambling proxy and how prevalent it is nowadays. Even the most "wholesome" content creator in the MtG space has videos up where he opens boxes and sees if he can beat the secondary market. Its kinda troubling if you ask me.

WotC Chris Cao has left WotC

MTG Arena hogged all my MTG time because it is so convenient and fast to set up high octane competitive gameplay and decks. But it is so convenient and fast that I burned out. Now I don't play Magic at all.

Shadowdark Setting Looks Set To Be 2025's First Million Dollar TTRPG Crowdfunder

31 hours left! Kinda crazy how Shadowdark's second Kickstarter launched just after a rather middling Zinequest and ends on the day the U.S.A. hits China with 101% tariffs with a likely recession looming on the horizon. Literally could not have picked a better spot to launch an expensive...

    Paizo New Releases and Subscriptions

Pocket Edition Subscription goes hard! Does anybody know if the Pocket Edition makes more or less money for Paizo compared to the Hardcovers?

Compare The Market's Tabletop Gaming Survey

Yes, that is just my personal blindspot as I am 30 and feel old enough to be exactly out of touch with what 14-21 year olds are doing and feeling but strangely plugged into what the 4-8 age group is into at the moment.

Compare The Market's Tabletop Gaming Survey

I'd wager a guess and say that this is a very poor measure for anything related to TTRPG because the list of options is capped at 40 which isn't even close to Collectively Exhaustive when it comes to survey design. The way I see it, the only thing you can glean from this is that D&D is freaking...

What if Studio Ghibli directed Lord of the Rings?

It's giving "I never learned to draw and now I feel vindicated for never trying" which is sad. Like people seem gleeful that AI is "owning the libs" or some kind of put down for the creative class, which you know... has precedence.

    D&D 5E (2014) What's on your 5E 3rd Party Essential List?

I honestly don't know if I could've ever stomached DMing any 5th Edition Fantasy Roleplaying game without the many resources on slyflourish.com and Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master. Monstrous Menagerie is a straight upgrade from the Vanilla MM. I appreciate how it is truly compatible with WotC...

Showdowdark Class Design: The Paladin! Live with Kelsey Dionne.

Yeah I don’t know. I’ve mulled about it for a day. It’s like part desert rider, part fighter, part cleric. I get that more Horse Riding classes are attractive due to the western reaches hexcrawl but it doesn’t really have that special Paladin sauce for me. Also if you play with mounts, everyone...

What if Studio Ghibli directed Lord of the Rings?

While Hayao Miyazaki was then commenting on computer and 3d animated examples in that article I still think he wouldn't be impressed. The quick cuts hide the fact that the animation looks jilted and stationary and nothing like the detail of a real ghibli film at all. It mimics the aesthetics...

D&D 5E (2014) Why is no one talking about THE BOOK OF MANY THINGS?

It's an 86€ box set where I live and the price seems to be tied to a 200 page book and physical accessories. It's just one of those WotC products you see yourself picking up in the future on a classifieds site at a 70% discount from someone who let it rot unused on their bookshelf for 5 years
