    D&D 5E (2024) All 48 Player’s Handbook 2024 Subclasses

Why are people acting like non-spellcasters aren't getting goodies in this book? All of the Martials save Monk get Weapon Masteries, and Monk gets Martial Arts and Discipline Points to make up for the lack thereof. This is a big leap forward in providing Martials with tactical options they...

D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Map Of D&D's Planes!

Yeah, but all of those are spinning inside the Deep Ethereal! It's just a zoom in on a part of the Planescape that the above map doesn't detail because it's prioritizing Sigil and the Outlands over the Material, Echo, Transitive, and Inner Planes. For this reason I'd like a Munsell Solid...

    D&D 5E (2024) Let's call it 5.24

v5.2 is how I'm calling it, same as the upcoming SRD revision.

D&D 5E (2024) Check Out D&D's New Gold Dragon Redesign

Gorgeous. No need for separate Lung Dragons, now, right? Make the Metallics into Long!

What was up with the blink and you miss it nature of this map?

Plenty Of Time To Die: A Shadowdark Review

Every time this shows up in my feed, I think it's about the Shadowfell's equivalent to the Underdark. :C

D&D 5E (2014) Fighter should be called Knight and Monk Should be called Fighter, change my mind

Both should be called Fighters. The Warrior Category of classes should be called the Fighter category. They should have Fighter, Expert, and Magic-User. as overarching categories. And some classes can have multiple categories. Keep the Power Sources out of it, just highlight the roles.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's the future of Xanathar and Tasha? (+)

I anticipate we'll either get a streamlined Character Rules Expansion book that combines some options like Death and Grave Domain or Undying and Undead Patrons, some options will be left out entirely, but most Rules Expansion options (and the missing Core Rules subclasses for Cleric and Wizard...

D&D 5E (2024) What Should A New Core Setting Look Like?

It's literally the blank slate core setting that fits everything in it. A lot of people want to play in their own sandbox but one with just enough demarcated that they don't have to make everything up but also don't have to read 500 novels or a wikia to understand the background. I think WOTC...

WotC WotC Removes Release Dates From Promo Images For 2024

They haven't shown us the Bard since going back to spell lists. They should have at least 1 more packet.

A Look at the New Deck of Many Things

Remember that D&D canon is just the WotC story bible, and they actively encourage Joker Backstory shenanigans. Honestly – arguing about which canon origin we prefer? That's literally what historians and religious scholars and politicians and lit majors and scientists of all stripes have been...

A Look at the New Deck of Many Things

Weird that it includes the character Euryale (Yoor-eye-ah-lee), one of the Gorgons, since I literally was just reading about the Gorgons and struggled with her pronunciation and looked it up literally a few hours ago and only afterward saw this article now!

D&D 5E (2014) Replacement art is up for Bigby's AI art on D&D Beyond!

No, technologies developed from the field of research that includes artificial intelligence have been used in digital art since at least the 1970s. There is no extant technology that is actually AI. Large language models are NOT intelligent; they are a particular type of database that averages...

D&D 5E (2014) Replacement art is up for Bigby's AI art on D&D Beyond!

And here's the catch I hadn't heard. Yup, so this was all good PR while probably Hasbro's working on making it legal but less visible for future projects. UGH. Thanks for the sources and info.

    D&D 5E (2014) Monstrous Compendium Eldraine Creatures

That's a little bit overboard. The Courts still exist. They're building back from the fall. If Throne of Eldraine was the time of Arthur, then we're now in the fascinating and shadowy period that comes after. So much of Celtic song and poem are odes to the days gone by. Eldraine now can have...

D&D 5E (2014) Replacement art is up for Bigby's AI art on D&D Beyond!

Ack still seeing people making unfounded claims on how AI filters work. The so-called AI was trained on all the art it could find on the internet. It's not a just another tool in the toolbox, it's an amalgam of other people's works with the original work. It falls into a similar territory as...

    D&D 5E (2014) Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms 5E

Oh I agree. But these books are trying to be both, but often are coming from people who aren't from the cultures they're inspired by. And even though those works mentioned are inspired by Europe, there's still a bunch of Japanese tropes built in to each of them. Hellsing even has anime miko...

    D&D 5E (2014) Monstrous Compendium Eldraine Creatures

The big difference is that back in the day they got a whole year of development for a setting, while now it's about 2/3 the card face content (everything is a large set) but 1/3 the lore (because only one set in the location). Eldraine is just NOW getting its part 2. And while it has to serve...
