Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

But she ASKED. So that doesn't run afoul of the maxim. And while she did ask, if you had fewer products/options available in the color you thought was nicer, you'd have lost out on sales. But mostly it's about the fact that she asked for that feedback. You didn't try to convince her not to...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Absolutely. The classic example I always hear, though, is about the ugly hat. If the customer wants to buy a hat you think is ugly, just sell it to them! Each person is right in matters of their own personal taste.

Your top 5 sci-fi movies (and why)

Oh indeed. Point of order- the thread asked "your top 5" not "the top 5". I answered it as such. ;) I think it would be a much more boring and uniform thread if we were all going primarily on historical importance and significance. Just shuffling around the order for Star Wars, The Matrix...

Looks good. I want to build more regular lower body and core into my program. Just need to make the time!

    Our Physical Fitness

Got back in last night and did almost the same workout as Saturday morning. Three circuits of dumbbell bench, dumbbell inclined curls, dumbbell skull crushers, and dumbbell seated lateral raises, but only doing drop sets on the third circuit. Except I did drop sets every time with the curls...

Your top 5 sci-fi movies (and why)

That's a killer list. Five is hard to do, but this is my best attempt for today: 5. The Terminator. Barely edged out T2 for me, in part because some of the humor in T2 is a little lame. Just a super tight, suspenseful script and story. Both have amazing scores. 4. Blade Runner. Some bits of...

How Do You Like Your Steak?

Yup. I grew up in a household which mostly cooked the steaks to Well, and I thought I liked it that way, though they were always tough. Growing up I discovered how much I loved Rare, or even Bleu, but it has to be the right (leaner) cut. Like filet mignon or Chateaubriand. When I make a...

Tell me about VtM when it started

Still a great game. One of my old Boston area goth/industrial scene buddies has been the lead developer for for some years now.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I usually see this happen because someone got deep into an old thread and really liked your comments/contributions/arguments, whether or not they realized how old the thread is. Are you musical? My read has been Artificer/Rogue, since you're definitely a skill monkey. :D

Tell me about VtM when it started

As I recall, when the Cam first put together the Mind's Eye Theater LARP rules, part of the point and intent was to be able to play it in public spaces and nightclubs alongside non-gamers without them necessarily knowing what was going on or being a part of it. The various hand gestures and...

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

Even a sci-fi drama might make that argument. Of course Heinlein cheats by claiming in-fiction that there's mathematically-demonstrable proof that this position is right, without showing any such work. In the real world people have legitimately differing opinions.

    Our Physical Fitness

Saturday morning before going out protesting I did a slightly lighter session, three circuits of dumbbell bench, dumbbell inclined curls, dumbbell skull crushers, and dumbbell seated lateral raises, but only doing drop sets on the third circuit. That made it a bit less exhausting and let me fit...

Survey Says TTRPGs Bring Mental Health, Romance, and Friendship

Yes. That's my experience as well. While not everyone's campaigns include emotional vulnerability or soul-baring, the nature of role-playing and getting into a character does tend to make it more emotional and personal than other hobbies, and provide opportunities tailor-made for emotional...

Tell me about VtM when it started

Pretty much all of this, except I did LARP. I first dipped my toe in it in Seattle (including attending the convention Mark Rein-Hagen and Stewart Wieck flew out for in Spring of '93 to make the Camarilla the official WW fan club) just before moving back East as a teenager. Once I got to New...

D&D General How Much D&D Stuff Is There Anyway? Part 4: Novels

Another wonderful article! For clarity and courtesy, it would be good to credit the author by her current name, Pauli Kidd, perhaps with a "writing as" note.

    Our Physical Fitness

Went in again last night for a quick session on limited time - three sets machine triceps extensions with drop sets (increasing weight a bit), three sets of lat pulldowns with a drop set on the third, and two of machine overhead press with a drop set on the second. Guy on the station 45 degrees...

D&D General Favorite Creepy Monster To Run?

One of the scariest antagonists I remember from a 3.5 campaign we played was an assassin who possessed people a la Magic Jar. Giant pain to fight, especially once he started possessing us.

D&D General Favorite Creepy Monster To Run?

I had a witch villain in one of my campaigns who used construct scarecrows as guards and enforcers. I think I came up with my own stats. Not especially horrifying, but the PCs didn't love the extra flame damage they took being slammed by them once the (vulnerable) scarecrows were set alight.
