I mean, I said "less precedented" not "unprecedented". Pathfinder 1E in the late Aughts is pretty rare company to be compared to, but also frankly I can think of more differences in the context of Daggerheart and Pathfinder than similarities. Very, very different games, different...

They can be full communities, but they also don't have to be. Tieflings and Aasamir as "sports" (Genasi, too) within other communities goes way, way back. And nothing in the PHB itself really cares about that for the purposes of creating a given character.

Exactly, they just had an interesting idea presented to them, developed it, did a few shows, and moved on. Plenty of other parallels in the history of the hobby. Daggerheart...is less precedented.

Beadle & Grimm, I believe. Not saying it is a huge success, honestly doesn't seem like it was, but it wasn't designed to be some big ongoing growing game. It's a light game, from what I have seen.

They did have one that came out earlier this year. It definitely didn't catch fire the way Daggerheart is right now, but you know, most games don't?
