    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

They changed some to Warlocks in the new Core books. The key is to not be precious about "respecting canon". WotC simply ignored the people who complained about the Tieflong, and went further in thst direction. And there were certainly Tieflings in 3E Greyhawk.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

There is honestly very little about dragons for Greyhawk: the only mention at all in the boxed set is an Adventure Swed in Perranland about a Copper Dragon. They didn't really play much into Gygax's adventure modules, either.

Probably to subtly encourage selecting spells without a material component.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

There is a dragon empire to the West, according to some versions, so a diaspora of small Dragonborn communities and rare individuals from beyond the Flannaes seems reasonable, or from anywhere frankly, there is no shortage of Dragons. Did a little bit of rabbit hole deep dive in my secondhand...

Daggerheart To Release Official Hope & Fear Expansion

OK, so in the interest of price analysis, the deluxe edition is actually quite a fair value: $40 for the 200 page book and cards: actually a great price 12 rhombic dohecahedrons: it was a bit of work to find a fair price, since these are rare, but what I found was $2.50 for a single die or $10...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

So, a major portion of the world building in the Greyhawk boxed set uses random encounter tables set by nation or geographical region to establish what can be expected where (and triangles show where a lot of Gnomes, Dwarves, and Halflinfs are), but even these are meant to be supplemental to the...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

For sure, but it is pretty easy to slide Dragonborn, Aasamir, Tieflings, and Goliaths in there alongside them. There are already dragons, giants, fiends, and celwstials ar work.

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

Well, it's an advantage to anyone who buys a hard copy book if this material gets repressed down the line. And they fixed it quickly, so people who paid to playtest did not wait long, I guess.

D&D 5E (2024) Ed Greenwood to Publish 4 New Forgotten Realms Sourcebooks in 2026

Completely different, yes. Gary Gygax was by all accounts a very dynamic DM, but the novels...less dynamic. I love the Forgotten Realms as a worldbuilding exercise, but I'm sorry...that sentence is damning with faint praise. Great DM, great spinner of world details. Probably a fantastic...

D&D 5E (2024) Ed Greenwood to Publish 4 New Forgotten Realms Sourcebooks in 2026

He who controls the past, controls the present. Bit of a difference between a casually dashed off forum post and something like Spellfire.

Daggerheart To Release Official Hope & Fear Expansion

Todd makes the good point that the book has a certain "Xanathar's Guide to Everything" energy. Mercer gives a really good pitch of the freaking cards.

Yeah, basically everything in the South seems like it returned to what it was in the Grey Box.
