Are you certain that was a D&D boxed set? A quick search indicates there was an early leak for the card boxed set (because there is alwaya a big card box set for these tnings), but nothing about a D&D boxed set.

Yeah, I don't know if tha tiantrue. WotC made vague indications something D&D was coming with Lorwyn in February or Marxh, and we made all kinds of assumptions based on prior releases. But previous result are not necessarily indicative of future performance, and all that. Not sure theybevwe did...

Planar stuff > biology. They would have their Dwarven or Elven culture and other background stuff, but they would be Tieflings. It doesn't need mechanics...though I do think Heritage Backgroundss with requisite Feats could help here.

What we did back in the primeval days of 3.x were XP boosts for plot events, but these days it is just "Everyoke Level up for the next session!"
