Or they were in Embarrassing all alomg just like the Drafonborn, but earlier descriptions just folded them all under the label "Lizaedfolk". Easy peasey.

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

My experience for D&D milestone os that itbisnoften nebulous and at DM discretion (fiat), but that went back to the start for me as my 3.x DM used plot based XP thst effectively worked like the current milestone approach. That is what I like about the Cosmere RPG approach: it is milestone...

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

That's what I appreciate about the DCC system: it has a certain objective predictably and rhe zero to hero arc like standard D&D XP progression, but it incentives creative engagement rather than any specific "gameable" behaviors.

That was also before a lot of inflation.

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

Treasure for XP does encourage behavior that fits a genre of story, at least. Combat for XP really brought out weird sociopathic results in 3E, to my mind.

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

It is interesting to consider Clasic Traveller here, a game with no level advancement mechanism at all, that was also trying to encourage the same pulpy mercenary behavior as OD&D, bitnthrough narrative structures like mortgages and ebt collection.

Not much in style in general, hence the know away from that incentivization system entirely within the hobby.

Your top 5 sci-fi movies (and why)

It is generically appropriate, so as far as studio meddling goes it actually works well as it's own artistic take. It is clear after watching ot without that the film was designed to be more eerie and subtle by Scott, but agreed that I can watch either version.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

It does not say that anywhere. The 2014 PHB called out Humans, Elves, Dwarves. And Halflings as "Common" and the other options as "Uncommon", but 2024 is notably agnostic on the different Species commonality.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

Yeah, AD&D Greyhawk treated Gnomes and Halflings pretty much exactly the same as the new FR books treat Goliaths and Dragonborn: even more marginally, if anything.

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

Yeah, that is a much better like for like comparison: and while the Gunslinger has the added complication of licensing fees, it wouldn't be fair to Mage Hand Press for WotC to undercut their pricing structure on the same platform.

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

Overall solid analysis, but putting books on Beyond is going to have added costs in staff and maintenance that might make this part more complex in terms of break even point. Maps didn't program itself, and these are Maps integrated books.

In the case of other game company productss, the competition isn't an integrated virtual tabletop and character generator tool dynamically hyperlinked. A PDF is a different thing.

The $40 sandwich justifies it's price by the enjoyment given: you paybfor the labor and expertise. Same as a game book. And again, this game book is cheap sandwich prices, and after inflation half the price of the 12 page White Plume Mountain module TSR put out back in the day.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

Yeah, and mentioned in the new books, too. The players book for Faerûn does establish that Goliaths are literally all over the place, though on the margins of major civilization. There really isn't any limit on it, and unlike say 3E there are no demographics for Baldur's Gate suggesting there...

No, they are not. They are in the same category for hobbyists, but D&D is not fighting for windshield in the public space with Runequest or Traveller. I am sure you can find a $40 sandwich at a high place these days, and it may even be worth it. An optional hobby item that can provode months of...

Yeah, two. Wyrmdoom Crag and Skytower Shelter. Jeremy Crawford once pointed out, in reference to represe ting real world human diversity in 5E books, is that one huge advantage D&D books have ocer novels or shows is that there are 100+ characters in a book, so there can be representative...
