D&D General What are the boundaries of what counts as part ot Forgotten Realms?

I was thinking that it would at least need the Forgotten Realms label on the cover of the book. But then they stuffed other settings into the world and I can see my players might go to Al-Qadim or such. My players will never find a spaceship and portals to other worlds are out as well in my...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

Yes, once at my table. Then the unlimited dragon horde would eat him since he is full of cheese.

    D&D 5E (2024) Practical Build #1. Champion Fighter.

Magic items are always hard to guess at. As the DM, I might take into account the items the players use like trident and make something for them specifically. I also tend to use the more common ones thinking that they would be the ones most commonly made into magic items. This tends to lead...

What does a tank graveyard mean to you in your game?

There is a military museum near me that took one out of a old river 20 years ago. I forgot if it is a German tank in Russia or more likely a Russian one in a Germain river. The coolest part of the museum is they have one of Hitler's (7) Mercedes-Benz 770 super size luxury cars.

What does a tank graveyard mean to you in your game?

Initially a tank graveyard means the desert where we laid waste to the Iraqi's feeble defense back in Gulf 1. I guess in my games, it means a challenge or NPC that deals with fighters in a bad way.

    D&D General Should you Multiclass?

I find that with 5e (.5e) the subclasses do so much to fill in what multiclassing should be or was in older editions. If you want a fighter or rogue with some spellcasting- there is something for you. Same with pretty much any other combination you want. Most every time I have seen MCing is...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

I would still argue that the action being used by the PC is to cast a spell and not to make an attack. The spell allows you to make an attack as part of the action being used. If the spell was different somehow and was a free action or such that allowed you to use it while making a attack...

D&D General Circle Magic and New Spells: Gain Mastery Over the Weave

Looks like those spells and the idea of circle magic is more for the DM and plot reasons. There might be some high level PCs that can drop a 25,000gp gem and have a circle of casters that can spend 3rd level spells to power the circle, but I'm thinking the PCs need to stop the bad guys creating...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

The PCs action for the round is being use to do what? Is it swing a sword or cast a spell? It seems to me that it is used to cast a spell. Then the sword attack is part of that action.

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

I first read the title and thought, oh heck no- that is just cheese. But, I have come around reading the rest of the posts and think it is allowed. Still cheese but allowed.

    D&D General Best Adventure I Haven't Run?

I have not run Saltmarsh yet, but it is on my short list. I want the next campaign to be the new starter, but it just looks a bit meh for seasoned players.

D&D 5E (2024) Forgotten Realms Question: Do followers of Bane engage in sacrifices?

If it works in your campaign, then yes. There can also be different levels of priest and different alignments and even sects inside the church. These all can practice slightly different things. As the god of tyranny, hate, and terror, I can see having public sacrifices as a good means to show...
