Eberron: Forge of the Artificer Alternate Cover Revealed

Yeah, the stark difference between the standard and variant just isn't here like it was with RFtLW.

D&D 5E (2024) You Can Now Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Well there is one thing here that will certainly be house ruled at our table . 😝 The new designs are a mixed bag for me. I don't really like warforged looking less "earthy", but if that artillerist is a shifter, that hits the mark for me. It mentions that the shifter, changeling, and kalastar...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

I think you missed Reynard’s point. You can't manufacturer nostalgia. CSIO exist in the mind space of a lot of people's formative years. Something like Talislanta or Skyrealms of Journe might could, but a completely new product just doesn't scratch the same itch.

    D&D 3.x Auril stats

In a pinch, you could use the stats for Skadi in the 3e Deities & Demigods.

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

Yeah, Art Nouveau is fine for Eberron. The lack of wooden muscular and sigil on the forehead just makes it look off spec for a warforged. I do wonder if the new book will be revisiting Stormreach. Xen'drik is the most logical place to put the PHB’s mini-giant Goliaths.

watching time pass via tv show

I saw where they recently retconned Grandpa Simpson from Greatest to Silent Generation. I reckon that if the show last much longer, Homer will be a Millennial.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

I love that we’re getting a new Artificer that has nothing to do with gears and guns, but... Yeah, spontaneous generation isn't the fiction here. You should have some dead flesh to reanimate into your Frankenweenie!

What Does the RPG Hobby Need Now?

Yeah, the lack of support for non-fantasy genres isn't from the lack of games set in those genres. TSR/Wizards alone has produced lots of non-fantasy game that just haven't met the opportunity cost threshold for not using those resources for a D&D supplement instead.

RPG Archive: Star*Drive for D&D and Traveller

From what I remember, Alternity had GURPS level sales. That's great for SG Games, but for a company used to D&D level sales, it was deemed too great an opportunity cost.

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Announces April 22 Release For 2024 System Reference Documents

CC-BY is more open in that it allows for more use cases, including restricting use of derivative content. So yes, it is more open and less open than something like ORC, in different senses of open.

For the system I'm working on now, I'm experimenting with a complex skill check system based on mobile merge games.

D&D 5E (2014) I feel like the surveys gaslit WotC about """"Backwards Compatibility""""

If the progressions were standardized you could actually do those cross-class subclasses that they attempted in the Strixhaven UA.

D&D 5E (2014) I feel like the surveys gaslit WotC about """"Backwards Compatibility""""

We'll probably never know, so we can comfort ourselves in our own presuppositions. 🙂

D&D 5E (2014) I feel like the surveys gaslit WotC about """"Backwards Compatibility""""

I'm sure that between the simulationists and people who thought the original UA rules were hot garbage, it got pushed down below the the "needs work" threshold.

D&D 5E (2014) I feel like the surveys gaslit WotC about """"Backwards Compatibility""""

I still think they had no intention to substantially changing the way wildshape works. They threw out a really terrible version of template wildshape as a stalking horse, then had cover to say "it wasn't what the community wanted".
