D&D General 2024 official book release dates...

Hey, If they can get the last book out before the end of January next year, it will still be in the Year of the Dragon. 🐲

    D&D 5E (2014) Don't Throw 5e Away Because of Hasbro

That and making the term "5e" the rallying point. 3pps settled on that term because it was a trademark friendly way of saying this is a D&D product, without saying this is a D&D product. To turn around and now say, actually it means not-D&D, is definitely swimming against the current.

D&D General New Licensed Dungeons & Dragons Journal Sets from Random House

I wish they would do a deal with Mead to do D&D Trapper Keepers. This style... ... but with the BECMI box set colors and art... ... would be rad.

Ravensburger Releasing Disney RPG Chronicles of Light: Darkness Falls

From a purely pragmatic standpoint, you don't want four 8 year old girls fighting over who gets to play Elsa.

AI was at CES this year and isn't going anywhere it seems

It's slowly happening... https://www.billboard.com/business/legal/tennessee-ai-bill-defend-artists-voice-impersonation-1235579559/ It's starting with voice in TN, because a lot of people have a vested interest in that here.

    D&D 5E (2014) How about 5d20?

Yeah, if I see 5d20 or d50, I expect to be playing a game that uses five d20s or a d50.

    D&D 5E (2014) How about 5d20?

Incorporating a 5 in the name pretty much defeats the presumed purpose of a new term, putting some distance between D&D and games that utilize the 5.X SRD. Especially since the D&D trademark holders insist the 2024 revision is still 5E.

    D&D 5E (2014) Do we need a Fifth Edition Revival (5ER)?

Over in the other thread, I had offered up d20a/d as an alternative name for games built off of the 5e SRD.

    D&D 5E (2014) Using "D&D 2024" instead of "5e24"

Pretty much my reasoning as well. I went back and read the OP to this thread. Ultimately I think saying D&D or 5e is a distinction without a difference, 5e is a D&D reference. If you want something to distinguish SRD based creators from the trademark holders, reference the engine and not the...

    Exotic Fruit

The oniony notes in durian pair very well with cheese. In China there are a number of durian and cheese street foods. I even had a durian pizza at the Pizza Hut in my wife's hometown.

What Unofficial Star Trek RPGs are out there?

While it is technically an officially licensed product, the Prime Directive RPG diverges from Paramount canon at the point of the publication of the Star Fleet Technical Manual, and goes off on a wild tangent. It also doesn't/can't mention any specific characters from TOS or TAS.

    D&D 5E (2014) Using "D&D 2024" instead of "5e24"

I say 5.24e since it gets the year designation in there, and reflects the actual amount of change better than 5.5 would. :)

Rank the Star Trek TOS movies

I'd actually switch Morrus' last two. FF has a sort of a glorious train wreck appeal, but viewing TMP is like watching paint dry, and I just can't those pastel pajamas masquerading as uniforms. Christopher Plummer as General Chang elevates UC from mediocre to good fun.
